rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.

Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I've come to a point in my life where RPing on dreamwidth isn't as fun as it used to be. Continuing a thread and commenting once a day or every few days has me losing momentum usually and both parties will forget small but important details about the scenario/scene. Like, if someone was holding something in their hands, it'll suddenly just be gone the next comment because it was forgotten about.

I get people like well-written tags, but I miss boomeranging. I was wondering if there was a way to boomerang rp a thread and once boomeranging stopped, the thread stops. Does anyone rp like that anymore?

idk, are ecats still around? sounds like they're your best bet

Ecats is a bit too minimalist for me. I just want a happy middle, since I don't see how long introspective tags are necessary every time either.

i think the only place you're gonna find a happy middle is if you find a very special rp partner for psls. dwrp just isn't big enough these days to be as choosey as we used to be

if i were you i'd give ecats a go and see if you like it better than the current playstyle you don't like

sometimes the stars align and you find someone that keeps the same free hours you do and enjoys the thread and is a good writer and isn't embarrassed to tag back quickly. It still happens. It just doesn't happen as much. I've got a few people I can boomerange with for four or five hours a day on the weekends and its awesome. But they're really hard to find compared to how it used to be. My advice would be to keep an eye on other threads people have going and see how fast those move. BS is actually a good place for this too sometimes. It's hit or miss but we're still out there.

yep! it's hard to find rp partners who match up with you in time, writing style, and characters. i have 4-5 PSLs i can boomerang going at one time after dozens of hit-or-miss "kinks you want to play" starters, atp/enable me memes, and bakerstreet chance meetings, but these PSLs all have hundreds of comments each and i've started new threads with this people because we click.

it's incredibly hard to find people to boomerang with these days, so i feel you on this.

what canons do you play from, if you don't mind answering? i'd be willing to play against you to see if we click!
