why do people who ignore my profile and preferences on social media (not just dating sites) get butthurt when i ignore their messages and call me stuck-up/douchey/*ist or *phobic against whatever they are?

like i'll give a preference like "do not message me if you are 35+" or "only interested in speaking with people who know programming, japanese and or philosophy" and i'll get 40 year olds who know nothing about those subjects pissing and whining about how i should just GIVE THEM A CHANCE! they're such COOL peeps! i'm SOOOO missing out!

i'm a guy, so they're not desperate for female attention. and yes, it's all men desperate to be my friends. begging and desperation are anything but respectable.

i lose interest very fast if a prospective psl partner wants to talk the thread to death before we even start playing. a very basic idea, like where the thread's going to start and what relationship if any the characters are going to have is enough. if multiple paragraph pms keep coming and there's no threading, i stop responding and move on. i'm here to rp, not talk about it instead of doing it.

once the thread gets going, i'm happy to talk about it and what the characters are doing. but i want to see if it's fun to thread with the person first before i start investing a lot of time talking about the fandoms or whatever.

So US anons, can anyone tell me of personal experiences with either Windstream or NTS Communications as ISPs?

I'm looking to change and those two are pretty much my only other options besides who I have and AT&T who is a hell no based on past shitty experience with them. I'm especially looking for experience with overall reliability of the service, as in not much downtime since I work from home and have to have reliable net.

And before someone says to check reviews online, I've already checked. No ISP in my area is rated well and they don't have much in the way of detail to know if it's stupid customers or actually poor service.

Character is male, but he's not exactly attractive: for starters, he's short, and secondly, he's odd-looking in a non-glasses-wearing nerdy sort of way.

If a character tends to drop their gs (hanging out vs hangin' out), do you find it annoying if people type it out or not?

I know typing out accents is ... annoying at best (especially if it's so bad that you have to read the passage out loud three times before you manage to get some idea of what they're trying to say), but I've personally always thought of dropping the g as pretty unobtrusive as far as reading goes.

idk about anybody else but i'm pretty fine with it. written accents start getting intolerable for me when i have to put in effort to figure out what i'm reading, and most words are still perfectly legible after a dropped g

as long as it's not every other word, which is a bit distractin', it doesn't bother me either way. if i'm familiar with the character and their speech mannerisms then i'm going to hear the dropped G whether or not i see it.

anons, what are your RP goals/motivations? do you do it purely for the escapism and pretendy funtimes, or do you do it to sharpen your writing abilities, or...?

one of my own big motivations is getting people interested in the character I'm playing as a way of introducing them to a canon I like. if I get someone to watch my character's canon, I feel like I've done my job.

i really enjoy playing out certain character dynamics, both planning them out and also being surprised by what the other player brings to the table. it's kind of like writing fanfic, but a lot more satisfying for me because i don't necessarily know how the story ends. and ngl it scratches my kink itch so that's a plus too.

i also like looking for people i click well with ic and oocly, and i feel like rp has been the best way for me to do that outside of meeting people irl.

looking for female 20s-30s, modern era, with short black/dark hair (spiky, tousled or mohawk/faux hawk would be great.) the character in question is kind of scrappy and tough so i'm really hoping for facial expressions that are more fierce, less smiley. prefer no model face. bonus points for leather jackets and/or shades.

any medium is fine. ethnicity not important.

i've never played or even watched a playthrough, i think i just saw some fanart that made me think he was hot.

i mostly just play self-indulgent, disgustingly kinky smut, for fulfillment reasons. i also like to experience canon divergences and alternate universes for the creativity. rp isn't my main creative outlet, though (art is), it's just something i do on my off time.
