rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

For anyone who is just recently getting into the series, my advice would be to pick up the HD Collection.

You're getting, imo, two great games for a good price. You also get the original Metal Gear games in the MGS3 play area so there's that plus.

I didn't find Peace Walker that much fun, so I really think they should have used that disc for at least MGS1. Not including MGS1 leaves a giant chunk out of the story though, really, you don't need to see it to know what's going on. Backstory can always be picked up online.

The lack of MGS1 on the collection was probably to encourage people to download it off the PSN. It may not be in glorious HD but it still holds up in all it's polygonal glory.

Though I want to play the HD Collection, I'm playing all the MGS games backwards. Started with MGS4, moved to MGS3, now I'm at MGS2. Can't wait to get to play MGS1 again.

It has been worth every cent I payed for it.
