this. make an effort to see each other. even if it takes a lot of saving up and sacrifices being able to see each other in person makes a huge difference. otherwise there's just a lot of pain involved in the wait and uncertainty.

tbh her shitty attitude and self-serving behavior make it pretty easy for people to want to do that, but it doesn't make the theory any less nonsense

fyi, the "junko's talent is actually analysis" thing is a mistranslation. zero mentions that analysis is an ability (能力) of hers, but it's never referred to as her talent (才能).

iirc that misconception's from the dr0 fan translation most people use translating 超分析力 ("super analytical proficiency") as a super high school level/ultimate talent instead (which would be written as 超高校級の分析力).

it's still an ability people should keep in mind, but it's not her shsl talent.

+1 to reading/reviewing zero though. it's easily the most important part of the canon for her, imo.

i've written some pretty popular smut fic in their respective fandoms, and someone came to me wanting to rp one of the pairings i wrote about. but... i don't want to, because when i rp i don't usually write in that same style or quality, since i consider rp a different kind of indulgence. is that weird? has anyone else experienced this?

idk i just write differently when im doing it "for an audience" as opposed to just between me and someone else.

if you're experiencing something so severe it needs a diagnosis then it also very likely requires treatment in the form of therapy or medication. which can only be given by a professional. that's why people think self-dxers are idiots.

Nah, you're not alone. RPing and writing borrow a lot of the same skills and have some overlap in my brain but RPing tires me out like ten times faster. It's that "you're in the character's present" feel, and that you're viewing the world strictly through their lens, and no you have idea what your RP partner's going to throw at you. I really enjoy that cooperative writing feeling.

But I also like the "having control over all the aspects of a situation" that writing offers. You have the room to tweak it endlessly and the time to re-think things when they aren't working out. I can explore what-ifs to their conclusions in the knowledge that I'm doing it on my own time, without dragging somebody who may or may not enjoy it with me. And that's enormously freeing.

also please note the fact that harry was told by someone else that he was a wizard. he did not come to that conclusion himself. if anything, it's more analogous to getting a proper diagnosis from a doctor than self diagnosis.

how do you crit someone for being bland? they aren't really ooc aside from a few minor things, they're just incredibly flat and dull and they're playing a character who shouldn't be that way at all. i know what's wrong but i don't know what to tell them about how to fix it because it's not like their characterization is all that bad or anything.

Try to see if you can identify one thing that makes their playing more bland. Compare to other players if you have to.

that said, i wish the "stepdads" ran a little older in most of the videos i find. :( they usually look like they've maybe had their 35th birthday, if that.

it's stupid copypasta, but you're not understanding it. it's speaking against the tendency of (especially non-mentally ill) people to downplay legitimate medical diagnoses as "labels." this is a thing I see a lot in twee self-help articles or posted on FB by the kind of people who think essential oils have medical worth - like putting a label on yourself is somehow keeping you from freeing yourself of whatever it is that must be "causing" your mental illness. it has nothing to do with self-dx.

friendly reminder that the university of alberta did a study on gamergate and accidentally proved that it was about ethics and standards in video game journalism.

i don't know your life well enough to offer real advice, but the problem i usually have when my sex drive dips is self-esteem related. have you considered doing a treat yourself day or something? maybe a little pampering will bring back your libido. if you're feeling fine and fresh, maybe it'll kick in and you'll be feeling fine and fresh and frisky?

I'd love to see Damian at the

thelegion. We have a few DC characters, though none of the Batfamily, but the setting takes place in DC's far future. The characters have to join the Legion of Superheroes and help them defend the galaxy so they can work on figuring out why the characters are there and getting them home.

Damian could either get superpowers or get an exemption if you wanted to play him as badass normal.

Ra's Al Ghul is still active in the Legion's time (and was a major villain in their recent past) and at some point I want to run a plot that has to do with Gotham and Batman's legacy so it'd be great to see Damian in the game.

the thing is most people who self dx do not have the avenues with which to get a professional diagnosis. seeing a psychiatrist isn't free. getting medication isn't free. but when you start finding information yourself and realizing there are reasons you have felt the way you have or did things they way you did, and people called you names or worse for those actions, it can be rather freeing to realize it isn't you, there might be something bubbling under the surface.

self dx-ing can also be, in other cases, the first step towards pushing oneself to get a professional dx. a lot of people get in denial about that stuff, and you can't just sign up for a psych appointment the next day, and the psych isn't going to know what you have instantly, either. doing research ahead of time during the waiting period (usually months, if my experience is anything to go by) can help move the discussion along when you do get that appointment and make it less of a waiting game while they try and figure you out. it can also help your understanding of what they might be talking about, or if they say something you don't completely agree with.

besides, a one hour doctor's appointment is not adequate enough time to get to know someone you have known your entire life. doctors are not infallible. medical misdiagnoses are horrifically frequent and psychiatric ones happen just as often.

it's not as if a self dx'er is going to go to the pharmacy and grab drugs to self-treat, either. I really don't understand why people find so much harm in this.
