fyi, the "junko's talent is actually analysis" thing is a mistranslation. zero mentions that analysis is an ability (能力) of hers, but it's never referred to as her talent (才能).

iirc that misconception's from the dr0 fan translation most people use translating 超分析力 ("super analytical proficiency") as a super high school level/ultimate talent instead (which would be written as 超高校級の分析力).

it's still an ability people should keep in mind, but it's not her shsl talent.

+1 to reading/reviewing zero though. it's easily the most important part of the canon for her, imo.

Yeah, that's a good point. Really, the "Super High School Level/Ultimate" thing is just a designation by Hope's Peak.

And one of the main themes of Dangan Ronpa is about people being more than just the talents attached to them.

yes, that's not her shsl talent designation herself, but you can infer that she became shsl gyaru due to that. if you could predict everything that people do with stunning accuracy, as junko could, there's no way you wouldn't be able to predict emerging trends before they occurred and set the trend yourself.

analysis is easily her most important (and pretty much her strongest) ability. while the fuckup in the tl was dumb (and thank you for saying so because i legitimately had no clue that the school did not assign her as that shsl initially), it's a technicality. the fact that it wasn't the talent label assigned by hope's peak, despite being her legitimate talent, could be attributed to the fact that she was known for her fashion skill instead, but it does not change that analysis was the root of her fashion success and not truly a separate ability.
