I would kill for an angler mermaid. Mouth full of sharp teeth, glassy black fish eyes, bobble. Pig-snouted, tusk-faced trolls. Skeletal kepies. Wendigo who actually look undead and not perfectly healthy. More lizardy gargoyles. Naga with a full head of snake hair.

Actually, I was planning on doing an angler mermaid if I managed to get in and get that monster type, so maybe you'll get your wish anon!

I want to app into this game just to make whatever character and monster combo I app with get butt ugly.

I have a wendigo and the moment they die I'm going to get the rot going so don't worry, anon!

That's the whole appeal of undead horror deer, after all. :D

There's a few characters with inhuman faces (Riku Replica, Crow, and Terezi are the ones I can think off off the top of my head), though nothing springs to mind if when it comes to monsters that are actually ugly.

There are plenty of grotesque fog-forms, but only a handful of characters that have animalesque heads as default. It's understandable. Most people want their characters to still be recognizable, and the easiest way to achieve that is to keep their faces and not go full furry.

Props to the people who do go all the way, but there's nothing wrong with the players that don't. Personal design aesthetic is a big appeal of the game.

See, I think there are ways to go crazy with monster changes and still make them recognizable, but I can understand why people wouldn't.

At the same time, I think it'd be fun to see more people playing with characters being less recognizable and how they cope with that. But it's also not for everyone.

tbh i keep my character's human head mostly because i don't want to have to redescribe it every new thread and i don't have the money/art skill for comissioning icons

disappointed that none of the vampires have taken the new optional changes, it looks like. people have been begging for more physical vampire changes for ages.

Edgeworth has bat ears now.

but they're not ~sexy~ changes. they're weird furry changes and they don't get to be yet another monster type with functional wings and magic, so it's not what people wanted.

maybe the people with vampire weren't the ones complaining.

once i app in, im going for ugly and inhuman no matter what monster type my character gets

I strongly considered doing a fully animal face for several of my characters but then didn't because I didn't want to draw new icons to reflect that. It's a stupid reason but I also didn't want to explain "Oh icons don't really reflect actual appearance" in every tag :(

As one of the players whose character has a fully animal face, I don't think people mind using their imagination. Monster forms as a whole require some description, and links to images/monster posts tend to suffice.

Still, I can see why it'd bother you. A lot of people do default to icons.
