I've discussed it with the other mod and we'd like to know if anyone has anything directly connecting the player of these muses and the player of aphotic_auror?

We're very hesitant to pre-ban someone based on these sorts of accusations, but we do want to get to the bottom of it all so we can make an educated decision. We've both just come back to RP after a long absence after the fall of LJRP, so we are a little out of the loop.

I don't know if you remember the Croup and Vandemar from dear_multiverse who got banned years ago, but that's the player we're talking about and they haven't changed in all those years.

They've also were banned from LJ SWS for constant player harassment and bakerstreet for the same. And this is coming from someone who has been dealing with them being unable to take no for an answer for years.

Clearly this player has annoyed a bunch of people. And I get that, sometimes things just don't click. That's perfectly alright, we're all adults here after all. I hope you can see our viewpoint that, that in itself not a reason to ban somebody, though.

If an issue arises in our community, we promise that it'll be dealt with swiftly and surely. Anyone who has been clearly told OOC to stop and refuses to do so will be dealt with. As mods though, we do try our very best to remain as fair as possible. So we feel that there has to be a clear example of someone making that request OOC and of it being ignored before we take action.

i think you're missing the point here a little. it's most just this player being annoying that's their problem, it's how they refuse to show any respect at all for any of their fellow players and essentially treat everyone that isn't them like toys in their sandbox

this player's problems go way past simply being annoying. they have zero respect for anyone that is not themselves, refuse to take no for an answer and endlessly spam whatever community they're ever a part of, taking advantage of people who don't know about their seamy reputation to get the fetish fuel they want

most damningly, this player admitted once, and i really want to find this link for you so hopefully i'll have a follow-up soon, they admitted that they push the cannibalism/violence stuff so hard because they are using their character's victims are proxies for 'bullies' they dealt with in real life. that goes past beyind an annoying player, or even a toxic one. that's downright psychotic

Okay, wow, that was a lot of reading.

Yes, this player very obviously has a problem with concrit. A disturbing problem they should discuss with a licensed professional, and I hope they've done so at some point in the intervening years.

But this is from three years ago. People can change. Yes, I know it's unlikely, but I also know it's possible. I believe in second chances. Gods know I've been given a few in life, probably more than I deserved.

So while this is good to know and a reason to keep an eye on certain accounts more closely, I don't think it's a reason to ban anybody yet because there's no evidence that this behavior has continued.

If you can provide evidence from this year, something that shows that the same problems continue to occur, then that would change things. And by "evidence" I don't mean "oh here's a thread where I think they RP badly and I hate how they play this character" (these are legit reasons to make a personal choice to not play with someone but they're not reasons to ban someone from a whole community); I mean "here's proof they've been told to leave someone alone within the last 6 months and they haven't done so" or "here's proof recently where they had another meltdown about concrit" or something like that.

No permanent decisions have been made. We're still in information-gathering mode over here.

ofdrumsthesound is a really old wanker that has been a blight upon the community since back in the LJRP days. You might remember them from their memebells tantrums here (http://memebells.livejournal.com/278270.html?thread=278855422#t278855422) and here (http://memebells.livejournal.com/308160.html?thread=293145024#t293145024), or even their ban (http://dmooc.livejournal.com/276757.html) from dear multiverse for harassing numerous players with godmoding and cannibalism fetish crap

aphotic_auror is much more recent, only hitting the scene around this time last year, and so info on her isn't so readily available. i do know that she was banned from bakerstreet for posting photos of actual murdered children (not even from movies, I'm taking actual crime scene photos of actual murdered children) to a picture prompt meme on bakerstreet. she's also infamous for pushing in a really aggressive and tacky fashion for male characters to rape her female characters, ignoring player requests that she not tag them by making new journals (her original was actually discipuluschaos and she's cycled through maybe a dozen others in this past year) and making really strange and at times offensive comments in her rambling OOC notes (one instance, i'll find it for you if I can, had her oocly mocking library patrons who only rent videos for being 'dumb and illiterate')

mostly they're playing that kevin journal linked above, but as the linked thread shows, their behavior clearly hasn't changed

the moment they find out about this comm they'll flood with their kevin, master and gollum journals and get to work driving off anyone that might be interested in joining

for my part, i've been burned enough by them on sws that i'm flat-out not going to join this until i'm sure i don't have to worry about them pouncing on me as they've done over and over and over and over again in the past

We'll definitely keep an eye out for that, and if they do join we'll keep them under close watch while giving them every chance anyone else would be afforded to play nicely.

If any issues come up however, please feel free to PM either Girliemod or I at anytime. We may also consider starting up an OOC Comm for Sages for these sorts of things to be directed to.

We understand that everyone here is trying to look out for us and we appreciate that very much! Hopefully our choice to try avoiding an auto-ban as far as possible doesn't rub you all the wrong way.

But we promise we'll be as vigilant as possible. I can also personally promise that I am not afraid to use the banhammer should it become necessary. And while I am the softer touch between us two mods - you really don't want to get on Girliemod's bad side ;) - I do not tolerate wank, OOC abuse, stalking, or any other disturbing behaviour. Not in my community. Not to my precious bb members, because I revived Sages to have a good time and I'm not going to let anyone ruin that for the rest of us. You have my word.

Hopefully we'll see you in-game and we can all have a good time. :)

I'm still going to join regardless of those two so long as the mods don't mind if I ban them from the musebox or two I plan to setup for this place. But the fact they know what to look for, and so long as people are upfront about them doing stuff, things should be alright.

It's the timestamps on both links you need to look at. The sws entry was posted shortly after the player had been reported to the bakerstreet mods; it was a direct reaction/thinly veiled threat as to what they would do if they actually were banned.

It looks benign enough on its own, but if you read the other link in there along with it, you see it's a pattern of behavior she's had for years and hasn't grown out of - the "something she doesn't like happens oocly, so she puts up entries and makes "IC" threats soon after" thing is what's being displayed in the WG link from 2012.

The point, I think, is that although many of the links we have quick access to happened years ago, she's still engaging in the same sorts of behavior that put people off then and make them want to avoid her now. It's because she hasn't changed at all in that time that there is seemingly little evidence - people avoid the fuck out of her because she hasn't changed, so it never escalates to as much damning evidence as there has been in the past. It can't escalate if they don't engage.

And while "ignore her and move on" is a possible course of action for people to take, ignoring her and moving on in this case would mean failing to post in your comm because although you've said nobody has to reply to her, nobody wants to deal with the possibility of coming into contact with her. She's been this way for years and hasn't changed in the years that she's stuck around here despite receiving concrit and people trying to help.

The times of the post are close, yes, but I don't think that's enough to make a real case for actual threats. The SWS post seems pretty IC for that version of the Master.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not longing to play with this person. From what I've read I'll be staying the hell away from them.

But try and see this from an outside perspective: I don't know any of you. All I know is that a couple of people are complaining about stuff that happened years ago, and have no evidence they've been able to show me that it's still happening. This doesn't really look good for anyone involved.
