I'd still would prefer a pre-emptive ban hammer missile attack. Nobody is going to be upset with you if you pre-emptively ban at least one notoriously bad player who's been this way since the days of Dear_Multiverse. (I'd take Selywn over Ghosty if it came down to it.) But it is still your comm.

And I would suggest setting up something like bakerstreet does for ooc complaints. Make it anon enabled and visible to the public to allow for some form of transparent. And the OOC comm would be a very nice touch too, we don't really have an OOC place to converge at unanon these days.

We'll definitely consider all angles. We're in the midst of discussing pre-emptively banning "Ghosty" and have yet to come to a solid decision. Though I feel that banning them before they've even joined is a little overly pre-emptive. But as I've said, I am the soft touch between us.

We'll definitely have some OOC avenue set up for any complaints to be made. It wouldn't do for people to feel like they needed to take their dissatisfactions to places like this rather than being able to come to us after all. I'll definitely open discussions with Girliemod about an OOC community. :)

The stuff posted is old but there is a good reason as to why SWS isn't a bustling hive of activity. Like I said, nobody is going to be mad at you guys for banning them nor would consider you as being ban-happy if you go through with it.

Not really. If I don't understand an abbreviation or something, I ask. No big deal. If someone has a suggestion for a better way to do things, I'm always happy to listen.

The conventions of "don't be a jerk" haven't changed all that much, I figure, and those are the ones that really matter.

That's what I thought too. But my game's been going around 2.5 years now, and I am a little surprised some of the shit i've had to add to the rules.

I've found that overly specific rules can be worse than no rules at all, because it opens you up to having to deal with, "Well you said no green socks, not no purple socks, so clearly it's not really against the rules!" and then you have to make a no purple socks rule and a no blue socks rules and a no striped socks rule etc etc.
