It's also so obvious it was done because of fans because it goes completely against canon as well. That's my main issue with it. Elena and Damon are awesome as friends and should have stayed that way.

Hinata/Yui from Angel Beats!

Despite the writer's intent, it felt like Hinata was just telling Yui what she wanted to hear rather than him actually being interested in her tbh. Also, the fact that it never felt like the two had any feelings for each other prior to episode 10 doesn't help me buy the relationship either.

the "what if they met when they were alive" scenario was cute but it wasn't enough to make me think "these two teens are obviously into each other" or anything along those lines

tbf Hinata and Yui's sudden hook-up wasn't the only writing problem in the anime. AB! was basically a bunch of good ideas and characters, but the need to cram them all within 13 episodes made the whole story a goddamn mess.

shirou/saber from fate/stay night

there's some things i like about their romance (like shirou being the sheath while saber's the sword and their reunion in avalon), and i think that they had potential, but the way they were written for most of the fate route doesn't appeal to me at all, it felt too high school romcom-y. i prefer the platonic relationship they have in ubw and hf.

I don't feel they did a good job showing Katara's feelings turning romantic, and her being wildly protective of Aang seemed more familial than anything. And while Aang had some age-old wisdom being the avatar, I felt he needed more maturing to do when it came to that as. I don't really care about them hooking up years down the line, but directly after the war ended was pushing it.

I don't even ship Katara and anyone else, and I love both Katara and Aang, but the ship was so lackluster especially with how it wrapped up in the last minute of the series. I have no idea why this series started so many shipping wars when the ships themselves were always the worst part of the show.

i mean, i don't mind kids getting crushes, but the way steven/connie is pretty clearly set up as DESTINED SOULMATES WHO WILL MARRY AND SPEND THEIR ENTIRE LIVES TOGETHER is really egghn to me. if it stays on the same level it's presently at for the rest of the show without them entering a relationship, i won't mind it as much, but i just really don't feel steven is a character who needs a love interest

Harry/Ginny

Didn't feel like there was a sufficient amount of build up time. Ginny was suddenly hot, popular, great athlete with no build up or previous hints. Rowling wanted Harry to marry into the Weasely family so he could finally be part of a loving family and doing it this way was just felt slapped on. Why does he need to marry into it anyway to be considered part of their family? Sorry, it just felt like it came out of left field near the end of the series.

Davekat if it counts as canon. I just don't care about Dave at this point and Homestuck might be wrapping up but Karkat has plenty of interesting things left to show that are now being reduced to how he interacts with Dave. It's just fucking boring.

i like both characters a lot, and i don't think there was anything wrong with some kind of crushing going on, because they're teenagers and that's a thing that happens, but... gdi, i wish they had both moved past it, and ended up as just friends. for hermione especially, there were so many moments where it would have made sense for her to cut her losses.

mostly because i shipped tsumugu and manaka from the very beginning and i am very bitter it didn't happen. >:^( they were the only two characters that didn't piss me off and i wanted them to be together...!
