You're all idiots except for me

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I'm not exactly sure either. I haven't read any of the books, mostly because I keep hearing really questionable shit about it, aka, Elena has wings.

http://vampirediaries.wikia.com/wiki/Damon_Salvatore_and_Bonnie_McCullough

This mentions something about potential soul mates, but again, what I heard was that the new authors said 'fuck that' and LJ Smith was not happy that Bamon, which she apparently wanted, was being unwritten.

Elena having wings comes in the parts after where LJ Smith was forced to stop writing it. The last thing Lj Smith wrote was the 4th book where Klaus was defeated. Looking at that article, it happens after LJ Smith stopped writing. Damon definitely had a thing for Elena in the first few books, even thought she liked him when she first became a vampire, but her memory was a bit messed up for a short time (that's probably where the TV show got the sire bond thing from), but once she regains her senses she goes right back to Stefan.

It is true that Bonnie was one to pick up on the fact that Damon wasn't as bad as he made himself to be. In the 4th book, she's the one who figures out that Damon had a good reason to fail to save Vickie, and it turned out he couldn't because she only invited Stefan in. So it's very possible LJ Smith was working towards something there but Damon definitely needed some more effort to come around. But yeah, I just stopped with the 4th book. It ends at a nice spot where you can just assume a happily ever after ending and doesn't get too crazy. I'd recommend reading just those if interested in the books, the rest gets too weird because it's not LJ Smith writing them. She's at least remotely sane and prefers to write strong female characters.
