tbh, to each their own. i always saw the characterization different than how people play him usually. i know that cloud is always a little emo, but in ff7 he was kinda a dick. he was a dick to so many of the characters in ff7. i'm sorry you feel that way about the cloud. i just love him and killua to pieces though. i love ff7 so much and it's refreshing to see dick!cloud over emo!cloud.

except to each their own doesn't apply here? great you like their "interpretation", but it's ooc. it doesn't sound like actual cloud at all. if they want to play a dick, maybe they should go play a character that actually is one. cloud had a lot more going on than just that in the game and is a lot more complicated than most people tend to give him credit for. the "emo" label also gets tiresome when he had every reason to be after a certain point in the canon, and even then he recovered by the end of the movie.

of course i have a feeling nothing is going to get through to you here judging from the mindless gushing so uh, have fun stalking i guess. it's just not cloud.

it's refreshing to see someone who gets it. he wasn't emo in acc and if he's played as "emo" it's also doing it wrong. in that time period he was going through a lot of things and was AVOIDING PEOPLE (which isn't emo fyi) because he was afraid of hurting them and dealing with a diseased and loss after loss and coming to terms with just how screwed up he was because of mako poisoning because he didn't have the time to stop and think on it during the og.

during the course of the movie he moves forward and triumphs. introverted isn't depressed, emo, or running away. just like being straightforward, fighting, separating yourself from a mission and your personal feelings as a soldier isn't being a dick.

if you can't grasp these subtleties as a player you probably never will and sadly, these are the people that are most active in the ff fandoms, especially 7 and they're the reason the fandom has such an awful rep for poor rpers.

no one said he wasn't a dick in ff7 (and he wasn't, he was just awk and harsh and believed he was a soldier).

the point is he's not played like he was in the original game and he's not played like he was in advent children and he was in crisis core. he is like an original character with the face of cloud strife and the zack is no different.

the reason he's played like no cloud you have ever seen is because he's not being played like cloud. if you love ff7 so much maybe you need to replay it too.
