NORSE MYTHOLOGY BASED M/M DRESSING ROOM OR GAME

Possibly F/F, too, if we can find a way to reasonably implement it.

there were man and woman warriors, so the question is more how you could 'reasonably' implement an m/m premise

don't think f/f would be a stretch at all

seconding what the other anons just said. f/f would be MORE reasonable than just m/m.

App capped, planned length campaign game based off the Alone minigame from Watch Dogs please tell me I'm not the only person who thought that minigame would make an awesome world to throw characters into.

FIGHTCLUB BASED GAME

Do you think it can be done?

not really, no

Re: GAME IDEAS

There's not enough AU games out there so I decided I'm going to make my own. What would people LIKE to see? I'm partial to space or high fantasy myself but want something others would be excited for.

Re: GAME IDEAS

(Anonymous) 2014-07-07 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't take this as discouragement because I agree: there need to be more AU games around.

That being said... don't ask anons to tell you what to write. Brainstorm either by yourself or with some friends until you come up with an idea that you want. You like space and high fantasy? Write a game for those settings. I've been a mod in the past and trust me, writing a setting that you aren't incredibly invested in will get unpleasant and chore-like in a hurry.

Now! If you like both space and high fantasy equally and are just torn between the two, I will say this much: both are in demand, but there's a little more want for a good, well-rounded high fantasy game. Not to mention that the last big AU game, Save the Earth, had/has obvious sci-fi elements to it as well.

if you're gonna mod, you gotta be excited for your own premise

+1 to that +1

Honestly my problem is I have TOO many ideas and have enough brainstorming capacity to work off pretty much anything in high demand. I've moderated an au way back when so I do know how to world build. It's just picking one setting and sticking too it instead of over-planning to a point where it becomes a jumbled mass in my head.

High fantasy in space is the obvious solution here.

space exploration and travel through magic and sorcery instead of futuristic technology?

i would so play there.

This idea came up while talking about people who thought The Games was too violent but...

A Super Smash Brothers style game.

Characters are brought in from their worlds and spend their time trapped in a small town or huge apartment while randomly four or more of them will just be teleported to arenas based on their worlds and forced to fight. Only it's a more friendly sort of fight. Sure getting hit causes pain but you don't bleed or break bones or anything like that. Sword slashes, explosions, and more just cause some pain and sends people flying. Winners in the fights get things like upgrades to their living spaces and passes from having to fight while losers spend some time in a penalty zone of some kind. Maybe they spend time without powers or memories or senses when not fighting.

I was thinking there could maybe be an overarching plot about breaking free of the control of Master Hand and Crazy Hand and escaping back home. Or something involving Taboo and the story mode from Brawl.

Would anyone be interested in this sort of game?

[community profile] smashacademy would probably get its panties in a twist

but if you did this and didn't allow ocs and had higher app standards i would love love love it. i love action and fighting games (of the dwrp and video kind) but all the games that have been made like this have been full of sperglords or run by them and the quality has always been low and no one ever wanted to actually fight, explore, or use what they had.

dressing room

(Anonymous) 2014-07-09 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been kicking around the idea of trying my hand at creating a panfandom dressing room--something like 8_dressing or the low-key/dressing room-esque game that opened up some months ago.

The setting would be a city with several different factions, probably styled after different niches on top of the normal city environment (e.g. sci-fi, wild west, something horror,) with the option to create your own adventure/city or drag in places from the character's canon. I've been thinking about finding a way to work in a network, too.

There would be (bi?)monthly events of some sort, maybe a couple different ones. I'm still working out the details. Ideally, it'd be a game without the commitment or qcing. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

I'd give it a whirl, anon. Sounds interesting enough to have a place for everyone and the monthly (or bi-montly maybe to start?)events I think would be pretty important in keeping everyone motivated and moving. I think DRs pretty much died out because of memes but we might have reached the pendulum point where people are more in the mood for a DR now. See if you can get some active, outgoing writers to sign on with you to help tip the balance at the beginning and keep things moving until you've managed to get an established base maybe. I think the first two or three months is what's killed other DRs that tried earlier because no one would stick around long enough to build the community feeling and continuation of CR most DRs used to have and gave them a difference against meme sites.

structured sandbox/dressing room based on His Dark Materials

[personal profile] daemonology 2014-07-10 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, sort of. Mostly just with daemons, less with the overarching plot of the trilogy. It's intended to be something with more continuity than just the one-off daemon memes. I've got a lot of the preliminary work done, I'm just looking for feedback on the idea itself, plus what I have done already.

My current idea is that exploration would take place on a gridded map and once a week players would be able to pick out locations to explore. This reveals new sections of the map to everyone ooc as well as revealing the resources, items and possible monsters that are in the area to the explorers. People could travel with groups or alone, but with going alone having additional dangers attached.

Would anyone be interested in being a mod that plays NPCs and monsters in a semi tabletop Player versus Enemies game?
