looking for both general and overall advice! she's a tough character to play, but i think i can pull it off with your help. any advice is useful, though.

hmm! I think a good thing to keep in mind when you play junko is the fact that she genuinely gets bored of everything. she's tired of something as soon as she finishes it, she's tired of waiting two minutes after starting, she gets bored of her own personality (and that every emotion she switches too (when she tires of it) is one hundred percent genuine)-- she's stupidly impatient, but that doesn't mean she can't wait if the situation dictates it. I think a lot of people forget that aspect?! basically everything junko tends to (if it already doesn't) stem from the fact she's just so bored all the time. combined with her intelligence, it ends up with a pretty bad outcome.

so, keeping that in mind, it's important to always switch it up with her. switching being her tone, personality, gestures/body language (which she uses a lot, she's a really expressive person so she'll tend to do large hand gestures while rambling or talking!). she doesn't switch her personalities a lot per se?! like, every consecutive tag is a bit too much but if you space it out it should be fine. be sure to use variety in the personalities, because I find it's really easy to pick bias' out of the bunch due to difficulty with others. if you generally don't rely on the personalities all too much, try and remedy it as fast as you can!

her top priority (other than despair) is to sate herself which.. in the end kind of leads up to despair but the point is she's always quick to put her needs before others. she's naturally out there?! like, embarrassingly out there. she does stupid poses and big flashy introductions, she's dramatic... she uses cute names for vulgar things (and she's pretty openly lewd too this girl has no shame she just doesn't care). she makes puns and jokes that people think have no relevance to the conversation at all that only she would get, she makes references to manga and historical figures?? just really odd shit like that. she rambles a lot and likes to hear herself talk, and tends to force her say in a conversation with no regard for the other person! she purposely goes out of her way to unnerve others (or make things genuinely complicated just to laugh) whether it's through intimidation or despair. she's been described as a bully, and she doesn't really care what other people think.

think of it this way-- junko considers herself to be on an entirely different plane than most people, so she doesn't really think that she should be grouped together with most "humans". she has this really dumb god complex thing going on (it's explained further in dr0?! her own stupid evil speeches etc). when she says something is right, she genuinely believes it's right, because as long as she believes that she is in fact 10000% more important than everyone, she is right.

and!! another important thing to really note about her is that, no matter the circumstance, she's always thinking about the despair. the possibility thereof, and how she can achieve it. you kind of really have to think in that mindset if you plan on playing her, because that motive really dictates what she'll do in-game or w/cr. and even if she's cute, she's generally a really awful person who, while recognizing what she's doing is bad, does it anyway with no real regard for how someone will feel other than their despair. and that despair includes her own, the only real good example I have of how far she's willing to go (and how much thought she puts into everything) is probably the entirety of dr0 specifically towards the end w/o really... spoiling anything but you get what I mean. maybe ch 14 onwards? I'll have to check to be sure but after that point is a good reference for her other than ryouko's first few initial encounters with junko. another thing I should note that, while junko is a-okay with killing people and forcing her friends into a game of mutual killing, she still can experience emotions just like everyone else. there wouldn't be much point to spreading despair if she couldn't feel it, y'know? to put it simply it's kind of like this: "I caused this despair, how horrible a person I must be to do this, I feel sick, this is the despair of ______, this is so amazing amazing amazing" etc etc.

I don't think I really expanded on the aforementioned intelligence bit but, basically she's pretty... stupidly smart. genius level kind of and even worse she has a really big ego. anyway, you should keep note of that too since in canon she's known to analyze/predict multiple outcomes to just one event. she doesn't do things without a reason, she does them because she already has a plan in her mind she wants to execute. but the likelihood of her going through with that exact plan is... very slim. the shit she does may seem stupid at times, or just plain weird with no purpose, but there is one. that's generally another important factor to keep in mind when you play her, too, since her intelligence partly defines her as well as her love of despair/boredom.
