Um

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

potential apper with a bunch of questions: can you get a foot in without plurk? what's the pace like on average? prose to network spam ratio? how cliquey are the casts, esp the big ones (hol, tw,spn...)? any deets on the mods? app standards? anything else new players should know?

Yes, you can get by without Plurk.
The pace is pretty relaxed. Things blow up during events, but the pace itself seems to be fairly chill.
If you just fill out the app the way it says to on the application page, you're really not going to have any problems. It's a little different from any of the other games I've been in, but that's about it.

Can't help answer the other stuff, sorry.

what the above anon said. as far as cliquey casts, I've found that our casts are all pretty good about tagging out and doing cross-canon. I'm speaking as a member of one of the big casts, but also a lcw, and I've had very little trouble getting CR with either character.

the mods are great tbh. very friendly, very helpful and welcoming.

as far as other things new players should know... if you're apping a lcw, it can take a little more work to get CR, but if you put the effort in, it's not difficult to get some really good relationships. plus, a great majority of the players are incredibly friendly and overall it's the most welcoming game I've personally ever been in.

oh, and there is more of a tendency for network posts, but open logs do go up fairly frequently as well. sort of the same as most games, I think.

plotting for events happens on community posts as well as plurk. most people post details on the post and just link it on their plurk, so you can get by just fine without it as long as you're comfortable posting your ideas and responding to the comments of other people that you think you'd like to do threads with.

i think the big casts are all pretty good about having a nice amount of cross-canon, but i would also say that if you really want cr with someone specific, ask them. they might not have time to tag out to every open post they see, but the game is very friendly and generally speaking, most of the players will make time for people if they know that there's interest for the cr. it's one of the friendliest games i've played at and everyone tends to be open to really interesting and varied cr.
