Um

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Six months isn't that long. Why bother to app and get settled in only to have the game close when you can app to something that probably has a good year or two left in it?

Besides, being a newbie during endgame is a pain in the ass.

To be fair, a lot of people don't stay in games for all that long, especially not with the same character. And there will be a couple of months post-endgame during which people are allowed to continue playing.

I honestly believe it's the second part that is turning people off. If your character is already established in game, our current plots are great! But making a new character work looks like it could be hard.

Six months is half a flippin' year, not to mention the months after where the game will remain open to play in.

To be fair dwrp looks down on flakes so hard that intending to play for less than a year gets you sideeyed. Not that it does anything to stop it in practice, but the effect is there.

six months is plenty of time, yeah, but those six months are going to be filled with a steady stream of drops without apps to counter them -- and let's be real, in a month or two most people will be finishing up old plots and getting ready to wrap up longterm cr. nooooot exactly the best time or place to be dropping in new blood, tbh.

most people don't want to join a closing game

the game isn't closing until next year!

it's still closing. people are already dropping, and already focusing on wrapping up their long-term CR. it takes a good couple of months to get settled in even at games that aren't about to die.

why would i join asgard with all that against it?

why are you coming into the asgard thread to argue this though

app if you want to
if you don't, what's you deal?
