rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

what if we advertized on tumblr? we have an easy to understand concept, as a playerbase we're easy-going enough, and our app is simple.

I say we go for it. we're a great babby's first dw game.

Go for it? The worst that can happen is nobody's interested.

You're still journal style, aren't you? Not such a great intro to dwrp anymore.

Does it really matter? They still learn the basics of how games work, apping, activity checks, events, etc. That's the important thing here.

actually, i would say it is.

tumblr is very much a journal-style format. on the "games" that exist on tumblr, it requires you to add everyone in the group and play within your own blogs. it'd be an easy transition because the formats are pretty close, and they wouldn't really have to learn comm tag etiquette right off the bat.

i put off apping for a long while because i didn't want to go through it all and the "secret codeword" is so archaic..

Most of it's meaningless. I don't know why the mods haven't removed a bunch of it.

There does seem to be some stuff that confused me at first that isn't real relevant, like exp for battling and stuff. Nobody seems to really pay that much attention to it in the actual day to day game. It'd be a good thing to ask the mods about next time HMD comes up. They tend to be really good about listening to players about this stuff.

- Thoughts on (asking beforehand) using the ATP ad/formatting stuff?

- Should we do this before or after the rules and faq are cleaned up?

- Potential places to advertize? (before I go looking myself)

- Sounds good to me. It has all the important info, and I know my canon has more RPers on Tumblr anyway so I wouldn't mind advertising there.

- Depends on how quickly we can get a clean up, I guess. If it's not a mod priority, we might be better off not waiting too long.

- I don't know about places, but if we end up using the ATP ad maybe we could include the tags for the canons that are in it? It'd be great for visibility.

I kinda play over at Tumblr sometimes so I can try to post the ad to my RP journal and see if anyone bites. Then from there I can kinda just tag it relevantly as #pokemon RP or #dreamwidth RP... that's a start.

I really like how the Transistor characters are turning out! I don't know if I could have brought as much to the table that they have been, given the way canon is, so they're really impressing me.
