Okay

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Probably a stupid question but how long is a decent amount of time to wait to touch base with the mods/whoever does apps? I was one of the first apps in and I'm curious what a standard 'wait x number of days before poking the mods' is for others. I know it's only been a handful of days and I'm not sure what sort of order they do them in, so I figured I'd ask.

long does it take to hear back on apps?
We try to process applications in a timely manner, but please allow for up to one week before hearing a response. We're implementing the use of player advice panels to weigh in on apps before the final mod decision is made and that takes time. Also, if it's a canon we're unfamiliar with, we do have to do a little bit of research before coming to a decision.

It's right there on the app page anon.

actually it's in there twice:

The entire process should not take more than a few days. If you have not heard back within 4-7 days of sending your app, feel free to email us and we'll let you know where you stand.

Okay so 4 days isn't bad as a length of time to ask them? I just don't want to seem pushy.

If you're a brand new player you won't be able to see it, but there was a notice in the OOC comm that things might be a little slower right now due to two mods being on hiatus, so I'd give them a bit more time.

Also, they don't always do apps in order. I apped an obscure character after about 15 people already submitted according to the status page and got accepted within the first few days, while a few people who apped more well-known characters and were one of the first apps in had to wait a week or more. I'd give the mods a full week before pinging them.

actually that post in the ooc com is unlocked for new appers too!
