Okay

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

how do you go about telling someone they are ooc? i mean i dont even really tag with the person that much but i see them around a lot.

thing is they seem really popular and always have lots of threads and posts, but i cant be the only one who thinks they are ooc? is it just because people like the character and dont care that they are ooc so long as their character is being banged by them?

how do i tell them this without them thinking im just being a bitch?

use their hmd and cite examples if you're confident they're ooc, it's required of the game so you might as well, if they take it poorly that's on them

what you don't do is bitch just because they're popular because people are just going to assume it's a jealousy thing. approach them like an adult, see how it goes. proceed from there.

also, keep in mind that characters do change and develop differently based on their time in the game, that's the whole point of the chip after all

so you should take that into account before immediately flying the ooc card, i know mine has changed for sure from the time they first started and where they are now

just to point out, ariel does NOT have a 'be ic' rule, since it could be used to point out oocness of anyone doing anything ooc in terms of sex and pairings.

so unless they're being ooc as in 'i like cuddly bunnies' when they're a homicidal psychopath, if it's sex related or pairing related, i'd just suck it up and deal with it. or ignore them.

Agreeing with other anon, either take it to their HMD or wait for the game wide one this month.

It helps to have examples to cite.

Another tip. While it's easy to say be polite actually think about what you are writing and how you'd feel if someone left you the same crit. Not saying for you to hold back but think about the wording you use.

Also, I've found people don't seem to mind sock accounts as much as flat out anon. I've left crit for others using one with the explanation that I want the to feel able to respond to me but I didn't want to have any CR we might have be affected by the crit.

Good luck anon.

Honestly that was my first thought as well anon.

And okay you like him, but isn't that the thing OP said? thing is they seem really popular and always have lots of threads and posts

How IC is he though? Personally I couldn't say and don't care since I don't tag him, but I also seem to be in the minority.

they're no worse than any other sephiroths i've seen and like above anon said the character was never all that interesting to begin with imo

it's a sex game and half the game elements are designed to get characters to do things they wouldn't for the sake of smut so i can't say i really care that much

It's not like Sephiroth had amazingly deep characterization in the original game anyway. Personally I like that ours at least isn't a woobie.

he's not from the original game, he's after Advent Children and takes into account all the FF7 games which should mean he has a developed personality and characterization.

I've played FF7 several times, and while it's been quite a while since the last time all I remember of him is that depending on the canon point, he's either a relatively normal guy or a batshit psychopath mumbling about Jenova.

And since then there's been so freaking much new extra canon in the FF7 universe that I couldn't even tell you whether they're IC.

So basically, he's reasonably IC as far as I can tell and the player has the added bonus of writing good tags, being active and invested in the game, and not turning him into a huge woobie stereotype. So I really don't care if he's OOC unless it's really, really flagrant, and I doubt it.

This can be said of pretty much every character btw, if you ask me. I'm more concerned with having fun.
