anons on wg were saying the players/characters were boring here. anyone playing here agree? are there people you have cr with you're enjoying?

it's a fluff game. it's pretty much inevitable that people here are going to be incredibly boring to a certain subset of dwrp.

granted, that subset should know better than to app to a fucking fluff game, but logic and dwrp rarely go hand in hand.

most people that are boring don't think they're boring or play with like minded e-cats

i see that word being thrown around a lot. what is the definition of e-cat in dwrp?

wetsackd). They're basically a bunch of games, most of them being memloss team games, that generally share a playerbase and are known for rapid-fire short rp comments instead of lengthy ones.

It's the latter that people seem to hate, since it's widely snarked upon that one word comments [...] and [blinks] happen a lot even though that's not really the case. (They did happen a lot in the past, but I think it's toned down since people started being vocal about it.)

if people are complaining that much about being bored i don't get why they don't just drop, if they've been here more than a couple months. complaining about people being boring isn't going to spontaneously make them less boring to you.

so i don't really agree, no. there are some who seem pretty bland but i'm having fun with all my cr, whether they're slow as molasses or not. i joined to play out cute stuff and sol, and i guess some people forgot that was the purpose of the game when they apped in.

Just because it's slice of life doesn't mean it has to be boring slice of life. There's plenty of ways to make a thread interesting without it being all about the action.

And unfortunately? There's a fair amount of players in this game who don't quite get that not everyone wants to have one note conversations that literally don't go anywhere because they're so boring to reply to.

all my cr and i seem to be having plenty of fun with our "boring slice of life" so i'm not really sure what you're trying to do here.

if you want interesting things? say something to them. come up with a new idea. stop complaining on anon comms and hoping that people will come see and go "oh no, an anon thinks i'm boring! i need to come up with things to please them!" when they get plenty of cr with other people.

I've been doing that, anon. Don't think I'm sitting on my ass venting for no reason.

i would love to do something with you. maybe we already are? but i'm sorry you're bored. i think it'd be fun to go on an adventure, or something. let's explore the sewers! maybe we'll find an underground city, or a treasure!

We might just be, anon! Does Saeng Seong even have sewers characters can go into? Obviously the city would have sewers, but if they're open or if there's a way to go into them is the question here...

i have no idea. i was just trying to think of fun things to do and something like an underground passageway came to mind. i would be down for something like that. i like exploring the city, but i'd also like to uncover more secrets. seems like something i'd have to go to a mod about though.

Sometimes people don't realize that they're boring. Likewise, some of those boring people are also complaining about being bored/boring.

But the anon in that thread who was talking to me actually made me want to reserve and app in the near future. Level-headed, no name calling, giving concise details and they had ideas, too! Seems like a chill person and I'd love to play with them.

Also, how kosher would it be to tell someone you don't want them to tag you? I don't want to play with Kevin, so I'd flat-out tell him I don't want anything to do with him or I'd go to a mod and ask them to be a middleman. He really grosses me out and makes me uncomfortable and I'd rather never have to deal with him again.

One: I'm glad I made you want you play! It warms the cockles of my heart.

Two: I'd say for you to go for it! Rekindle's a pretty small game, but I haven't noticed him posting around too much so if you were civil about asking him/asking the mods to ask him not to tag you you wouldn't be missing out.

Besides, roleplay is meant to be fun -- you shouldn't have to tag anyone that makes you feel uncomfortable.

Mods, please. If you're not going to update the lists, can you at least let me do it? I swear I'll keep them clean and nice and up to date.

Please. It's driving me crazy. There are people who dropped months ago still on the player contact list.

This is how I feel too. I wish that instead of app mods, they asked for tech mods instead. Or both!

Is there a mod HMD? You could even pp the mods on plurk since I think they try to add as many of the players as they can.

There is the mod contact page, as well as their mod plurk, yeah. But the last time I pointed out something list-wise, it didn't get changed for a while anyway.

Worry not, anons! After seeing this thread, I actually went and asked one of them about possibly getting one or two tech mods to help with the lists and the mod mentioned they were going to talk it over.

i really have to thank you for that, anon. i've been thinking about apping at the game, but i haven't really considered it because of a player there. turns out they're not in the game anymore.

The biggest problem I've had is characters who seem interesting and I want to try playing with, but playing against them is like pulling teeth. They offer little in the scenarios to work with and even less in tags. My own failing is that I am extremely slow, so I know I lose CR with characters because of my inconsistent and terrible lack of speed.
