Okay

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Thank you, anon, this is helpful.

I admit that the fact that you said threads tend to be completed over a few hours or days is a little intimidating — generally my schedule isn't that busy, but I do live in an odd timezone. Add to that, I can be slow at writing due to problems with my hands (...and admittedly I can just be slow braining replies sometimes, too), so even if I'm tagging during "peak" hours when a larger number of players are around I may not be able to get masses done. But I might still be okay if things are indeed backtag friendly.

It takes some of the pressure off to hear you don't have to participate in every game, so that's something as well, so it's looking like it's probably worth a shot for me to app and give things a go. One last thing, the last time I looked the app page said apps are closed, but there wasn't any indication of when they open. Is there a set date for them to open again?

DA and Kyriakos player here, there are quite a few people who are on moontime/odd time zones, so while attending to games might be a problem I don't think you'll find tagging to be a problem—and it's super backtag friendly!

Apps open on the 5th of April, midnight EST. They'll be open for a week!

i'm a new player to ecats myself and there is a good chunk of the playerbase who is the same. there are several people who use smalltext in brackets and introspect as much as a non-ecats player. the game has been very welcoming in my experience overall and people are quick to answer questions and help you get back into the thick of things if you're lost. the game has recently implemented posts for weekly updates of your characters and their opinions on ic mechanics.

There are typically two games or less a week (that's where most of the fast tagging takes place), one on a weekday evening, and one on a weekend. you're not expecting to make every game, so don't worry, but if you can show up to some (or show up to the aftermath posts within your team) it's fine. the main thing you want to keep track of is your character's team, as they are sort of your surrogate cast.

my suggestion would be to get irc for games, it'll help in communication and if you have trouble keeping up with the mass tags. and also not to get discouraged if posts are big, just go for it. don't be shy to add people on plurk (and i highly recommend adding your whole team) and talk there.

you may have to wait to get placed in a team, as the playerbase has been pretty steady lately.
