Potential apper here! Since the game is going into Season 2, I would really love if players told me the general feel to the game- how the playerbase is like, what the speed was like before Season 2 (seeing as the start of Season 2 is probably going to go into a huge surge), etc. etc.

It's very fast and you should be warned about that. There are also a lot of characters, and it's entirely possible to not speak to a ton of them while still being very active an involved. I mean that you can just not interact with the playerbase without intending that to be a thing - so, sometimes it can be easy to feel disconnected from certain plots or posts just because they have to do with characters you know very little about and have never spoken to, because you've been running in different circles.

Which isn't a bad thing, it's just worth noting. It'll probably become even more of a thing with the season 2 surge of apps (there are a ton of reserves and people apping) and the addition of a new location. So if that's not something you think you could handle, be warned.

...Ask about playing with X cast or a certain character type/arc here! We get questions on the PC job/power spread and what playing a villain would be like here all the time, and there were questions in the past about what the magical girl cast is like and whether playing a monster person is worth doing.

Fire away with questions in that vein!

Just wanted to say that I'm super excited to join this game this week. Everyone I've interacted with so far, including potential castmates, have been super awesome.

not looking forward to the new character explosion coming this week tbh

I will be really excited for it as long as we don't get a big flood of "OH MY GOD THE FUCK IS THIS, THE FUCK IS THAT, THE FUCK ARE YOU" intro posts and new characters actually start getting their momentum by tagging out, logging, or kinda introducing themselves. I was bored with the kinds of posts that'd be left floating once someone showed the character the FAQ about halfway through S1.

As a new player, what can I do in my posts to make this surge of new characters more bearable? Both of my characters would probably do some investigating on their own before popping on the network, so they won't be freaking out the way I'm sure most people do... but is there anything else I should avoid?

Honestly, if you avoid what previous anon mentioned about confused characters or characters who think they've "hacked" into the network you'll probably be fine.
