Yeah, would be so nice to see Eternia characters somewhere. Though my preferred Eternia ship is even more unlikely because I'm a crazy person who wants to actually have more than one little flashback scene of Balir/Shizel.

Sure, okay, I'll give it a shot.

Okay, so first off behind door number one: I'd like to try to interest you in the Friend Ship. That is the name of the boat that two small Lhant brothers are sailing on in high_seas along with magical girls, a few Abyssians including one Jade Curtiss who has kind of been dragged into a really unfortunate parental role, and lots of other really great people. The game takes place on the open ocean and hopping from island to island. There are pirates! Sea battles! Quirky events! Adventure! Trauma! And plenty of possibilities. Everyone is more-or-less searching for pieces of a big ol' ruby to grant themselves a wish and/or get themselves back home again. Or just whatever. "So what does that have to do with me?" you ask. Well...if you've ever wanted to play a character from the childhood arc of Tales of Graces, this could be your chance? Or! You could confuse bitties forever by claiming to know them when they definitely don't know you or wait a minute...how did you get so OLD?, there's also a thing! Or! You could grace (...sorry...) us with some awesome cross-canon CR and help small children grow into tough young men! Hypothetically of course.

Secondly, I guess, I will try to sell my actual ships and gen preferences. (Or I'll just list them and if you want me to, THEN I can try to sell them.) I am not a super duper speedy tagger but I will backtag for as long as you please, but I would love to meme out or PSL Richard/Asbel, Asbel/Cheria, or Frings/Cecille. (I can play any of those except Cheria.) And also I'd love to throw Noir (of the Dark Wings, from Tales of the Abyss) around, and maybe do like an alternate version of Tales of Graces future arc where things kind of go downhill in the "head passenger part two" department instead of everything just working itself out. Or even some kind of an AU. I also love knight stuff. If anyone wants to do knight stuff (either things that could have happened during the time skip or with other Tales knights like Flynn, the Oracle Knights, whatever!), that could be awesome as well.

Not anything shippy, but I've had this psl idea for a while;


I want an AU of Xillia set in modern times or just something not Xillia (im pretty flexible, really), where Alvin and Jude are either legit brothers or step-brothers who were once pretty close but grew apart because Alvin got involved in some seriously shady biz (like the mafia or something idk) and eventually he gets so caught up in it that Jude has to try and help bail him out, because that's what family does.

I've nothing concrete in mind, but one Tales character I play is Judith and would love a Peony for a long-term, eventually shippy PSL. Setting negotiable, should anyone happen to be interested, but I'd want characters to remain OU; I'm not nearly skilled enough to pull off convincing AUs. It is possibly my dream CR!

The conversation about Tear last post got me curious! Are there any other characters that you liked in one language but found uninteresting in another?

I actually liked Tear a lot better in the English dub of the game, since I don't really care for the tsundere archetype that much (and I feel like Jade was a more interesting take on it anyway). I feel like the grumpy awkwardness her English voice actress gave her is a better fit for her age and motivations.

I played Graces in Japanese and found Pascal kind of annoying. Then I played F in English and completely fell in love with her. Her actress completely stole the show.

Pascal in the english version is incredible. Very fun to listen to and definitely full of character! Haven't heard the japanese version so I can't judge.

As someone who imported the Wii version when it first came out, I was dreading the English release for this reason.

Needless to say, that's the most pleasantly surprised I've ever been by Bamco.

Agria. Maybe it's just that Kate Higgins is awesome? I love Maaya Sakamoto in everything else but she just sounded a little grumpy and it didn't really mesh with her outrageous behavior.

Otherwise I tend to like the Tales dubs about equal with the originals, though again, as much as I love Sakurai, I felt like Bryce Papenbrook's higher pitched voice was better for Asbel.

Agreed, I prefer English Asbel to Japanese Asbel. He sounds more like an 18-year-old kid than Sakurai does, as much as I love him.

Ironically, that's also why I prefer Richard's voice in Japanese - because he sounds younger and gentler. I think it fits his personality better.

I admit I like english Jade because I can't unhear Kururu with his Seiryuu, not to mention The English VA hits it out of the park.

Makes me wish there was voice-acting for the skits.
