This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. i think one of my characters was emotionally (and possibly physically) abusive to his wife before her death. if he were to enter into any other relationships, i'm pretty sure it would start up again after the honeymoon phase.

... this is interesting headcanon, btw, not amusing.

fuck I want to play out an emotionally/physically abusive relationship so badly but then I feel like shit for it since that's such sensitive territory (even if I have experienced both)

I legitimately think my character, who's over 30, is a virgin. Fandom seems to think differently because he's traditionally attractive and constantly drooled over by fangirls, but nothing in canon (which stretches over a decade) shows he's ever been in a relationship and he's not the type to pick up a prostitute or have a one night stand.

I think the same about my guy who is in his late 20s. I see him as a saving himself for marriage sort of guy and since he's still unmarried he's still a virgin.

one of my characters is the reluctant heir to an aristocratic family and his family makes a huge deal out of this every time he missteps

i headcanon that they've been trying to arrange a marriage for him

except he's always conveniently not in the country when they want him to meet someone :D

He likes chickens. No real reason, aside from them being adorable little things, and he wouldn't mind keeping them one day.

(In his game he's had one for a pet for a few weeks and then they ate her at Christmas dinner which he cooked sobbing quietly.)

Also: he likes fantasy and stuff, and when he was younger his mother found him kissing his pillow and calling it "his princess" that he saved from the evil dragon.

my character has a middle initial that is never explained, and it's always used when the character's introduced (even by himself) in canon so i figure it's pretty significant to him. i think it's his mom's surname, and like to think of it as the surname of one of my favorite teachers in high school who's of the same cultural background as the mom.

My character has about zero canon background (yay background character :/) so there's a lot of headcanon. Like, he's an economics student which is why wasted resources annoy him so much. Or

He likes to stare at women's asses.

I decided this because the author inserts some fanservice shots throughout the series, but whenever he is in the scene the amount shoots through the roof and they're almost all focused on butts. I take them to be PoV shots.

My character's not a virgin. He's the type who'd treat having sex as scratching an itch so, on one hand, you'd never expect it of him. On the other, it makes perfect sense for him to have tried it at one point in his life.

She's not a morning person. She can get up early without a lot of trouble, but she hates it and is kind of grumpy for a while.

... But her friend (who's kind of the strong silent type) totally is. It drives her crazy.

She doesn't need much sleep. In canon, she's gone around around a day and a half without sleep, but with her history of having to stay on her toes, she stays up over 20 hours just because she's used to it and sleeps when it's convenient.

He actually had a pretty normal, non-traumatic childhood, with parents who were unremarkable, small-town people who tried their best to raise a son with Anger Issues to still be a good person. They took him to church on Sundays, he was probably in a church-related youth group (because lol, "promise ring"), he was in pretty much every respect a normal American kid except that everything secretly pisses him right the fuck off. He got bullied and picked on as a very small kid (until he learned to beat the shit out of anyone who messed with him) but only by other kids and only in the "normal" sense of bullying.

I think it's interesting in its normality, because the standard headcanon for this character among the fans is that his alcoholic dad (always the dad, fuck you guys, women can be abusive alcoholic assholes too) beat the shit out of him every day all day which is why he became the guy he is and has the anger issues he does. And I just . . . see nothing in canon to support that, at all. I think it's trite and oversimplified and strips him of a lot of interesting nuances to his character.

That he suffers PTSD (though it's pretty obvious) and not only does he argue with the hallucination of his dead father, he also struggles with his ideals so much that even his alter ego/alias argues with him.

He is actually really, really good at his job and always gets the important stuff done, but he slacks off on everything else just to piss off his boss. The reason he hates his job is because he never really gets recognized for his hard work, and his boss is really nitpicky about everything. She's also well-liked and respected by everyone else even though he does all the important work, while most people dislike him because he's an asshole.

He's also ambidextrous because the artist can't make up his damn mind.

He's a clean freak. Not quite OCD levels but he does not like messes at all. If he has no one around he can order to clean something up... he'll clean it up when no one is looking.

he LOVES being a delivery boy. And the woman he lives with doesn't actually mind or whine about him 'being gone all the time' because he's actually not, he's just usually gone all day like most jobs. Once he's finally got his act together, they take every other Wednesday to do overnight deliveries just because they both like getting out of the house and being on the road. The chance to kill monsters on the way is just a bonus.

We barely see him interact with anyone in canon, but I think he's incredibly smooth with women and gets laid on a regular basis, and that's where his canonically slutty son gets it from.

Also he secretly loves Star Trek.

He's bisexual. This is partly because he actively flirts with some of the women in canon, but he's definitely more touchy-feely and intimate with the men (ex: hands on shoulders, lack of personal space).
