Lovestruck: An IC Mafia Game

Someone once said that love is a battlefield. And you know what? Here, they're absolutely right! At Heartstrings High, the entire student body admires the school idol, our protagonist...and as we all know, in this sort of story, every school idol has a questionably fervent fan club. Our protagonist is no different, but unbeknowst to them, a war is about to start between said fan club and the not-entirely-clueless student body for their heart! This is an in-character mafia game set at Heartstrings High School, where a battle for love will soon take place. What faction will the RNG choose for you? The underhanded fan club that'll do anything to get the protagonist's love? The "unsuspecting" student body that're just trying to protect themselves? Perhaps even the lucky (?) and beloved protagonist who's in the constant spotlight? Join us and find out! Signups end Dec 31st and the game starts on January 3rd!

Starts off like a regular spooky jamjar: random characters wake up in small city in an unspecified location and there are mysterious powerful figures who may or may not be gods behind it all. Characters are told to settle in and work together.

At some point, it is revealed why: the characters are actually all clones (or some other type of copy) of their canon selves, who have actually been dead for eons along with the rest of their worlds. There is no "home" for anyone to go back to. The universe really is ending and some lonely advanced alien intelligence needs other sentient beings to somehow either stop it or create enough energy to construct a portal to a fresh new universe that they can all escape to.

Everyone's canon story is long over. It's time to write a new one. Together.

Hey, there! I play over at hollyheights and we currently have sizable FF casts (not just in my two personally requested game categories!).

HH is a jamjar slice-of-life game that's a busier medium-pace and a bit slower right now because of the holidays, it would seem. AC can be met through split comments, so you don't have to do a straight-up amount in one thread and can instead make it through multiple threads. AC can also be met through contact posts!

Anyway, as you might surmise, I play Quistis Trepe from VIII but also Rydia from IV. I'm LCWing it from IV (app everyone!), but we have a wonderful Rinoa and Seifer from VIII. I would be thrilled to see anyone from either canon -- as well as anyone from any other game in the series. We also have a sizable VII cast, a Zidane and Garnet from IX, and a Snow and Serah from XIII.

Reserves are open from December 25-31. And applications are open from January 1-7. You don't need to reserve to apply.

How would you do that? Glacial (1,2 tags a week) Slow (1,2 tags a day) Medium (4,5 tags per day) Fast (6+ tags a day), Boomerang (as fast as I can respond until I fall over on my face.

I want to join a game but I don't trust myself to not lose interest pretty quickly, this is the situation: I always join games with high expectations and hoping to get a lot of fun and interactions but up to now I haven't found even one game that matched my hopes (actually I've been ignored in my last games since I don't play popular characters and aren't overly social to begin with) so I simply stop caring after two weeks or so of reality.
One side of me wants to try again but the pessimist inside of me tells me that it's probably going to end like that again.

Players and their characters sharing disorders/illnesses?

I intend to send a character to a new game who shares the same neurological disorder as I do. I'm concerned about playing them, because I do tend to talk about my own disorder OOCly from time to time, and once people put two and two together I'm afraid that the way other players interact with my character will change.

I have absolutely no intention to use my character as a proxy for myself or as a mouthpiece for my own experiences (though there will of course be similarities since the experiences of people with said disorder do tend to be consistent), but I am concerned that however separate I keep IC and OOC, people will see it that way. That, or they'll have their characters treat my character's disorder differently to how they ICly would have otherwise, out of concern of offending me (which I don't want them to do, because I am perfectly capable appreciating the existence of the IC/OOC line, and quite honestly watching other characters react unrealistically towards mine and my character's shared — and very misunderstood — condition would be grating as fuck).

Other than shutting up completely about my own experiences in my own personal spaces, and being very careful when towing the line between IC & OOC, are there any steps that can be taken to ensure I encounter as little bullshit as possible? I'm curious most of all as to whether any other anons here have publicly played characters who share disorders/illnesses with themselves, and if so what their own experiences have been.

i play a character with ptsd and depression. i have ptsd and depression. i've never been accused of blurring the ic/ooc line and as far as i'm aware, no one's avoided me because of it. what matters is the way you approach playing and talking about it. as long as people's ooc and ic interactions with you don't revolve solely around your disorders, you should be fine. don't worry so much.

Christmas bums me the fuck out. But I would relish the chance to do a thread that featured all of the holiday clichés: characters decorating and baking, throwing parties with at least one person wearing a hideous sweater, smooching in front of a fireplace while it's snowing outside, ice skating, shopping for loved ones, etc.

sometimes i get these weird-feeling curly hairs even though i have wavy hair. they look like this http://i.imgur.com/dPXJUDS.png about that size too (my hair is past shoulder length).

what are they? is my hair damaged or something? i don't know how to google this without getting info about actual curly hair

it's not very common for me but i find them maybe once a month and it's weird and kind of annoying
