Between Aather and Thusia, I've concluded that games created out of the CFUD player base is of terribly good quality. I've heard accusations of them being cliquey, but those were from people who weren't very good at reaching out to other players themselves. My experience has been that everyone really tries to play with new people. The overall wank is pretty pathetic compared to other popular games. (Wanking about word count? And whatever long conversation Aather had up in their thread that didn't break down to bitching? Sorry but that was not real wank. This must be backwards week too since this is the most I've seen in rpanons about either game.)

I'm really interested in why this is. Is it because everyone tries to communicate a lot? Or because CFUD is one big clique borg and tries to swallow new players like a blob of RP? Even Tally looks better in my eyes once everyone welcomed Becca into plotting. And when I see wank happening in Plurk, fellow players are trying to sooth and talk things over rather than wank along with them. Just how can I take this feeling from these games and transfer them to my other games?

Thank you. This attitude has assured I will never app at Aather or Thusia. I'd rather have the wank than being surrounded by snobs who state their game is OMG SO MUCH BETTER. WE COMMUNICATE, GAIZ. WE TOTES DO. AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE CR, IT'S YOUR FAULT!

Sadly it is a case of a common problem begetting a common cause. If you don't have CR, or not solid good CR, likely that means there is a problem with you and not the other way around. Can it also be a case of cliquishness? Certainly! But when a problem is so prevalent for you, maybe you need to step back and ask yourself why you're not getting CR without accusing other players of being the mean girls in highschool.

Common cause actually would imply that they have the same problem in several places, but if the same behavior gets very good CR in most other games, and does not in this game, because the players do not tag back to reasonable tags, never tag outside of their own posts or their friends posts, then it is not your fault.

You have to be a pretty self-obsessed wanker to even make the argument that it somehow is.

I would agree, but this doesn't actually happen in Thusia? The great majority of the playerbase is pretty damn good at tagging back and tagging outside their circle. There are some that don't branch out, it's true, but even them I've never seen not tagging anyone back. And really look no farther than Tally's characters for proof of this.

I don't even like Thusia, it seems like an over dramatic romcom excuse for sex game to me. I've just seen accusations of cliquishness from RPers before, and while it can be a thing, usually it is an overreaction and that there can be a reasonable explanation for why they're failing to upkeep CR! So say what you want about white-knighting, it doesn't stop RP CR paranoia from being a thing.

Not in Thusia yet but I am in Aather which has a lot of the same crowd. I came out of the blue for that game when I apped into it and I've been welcomed with open arms and after a matter of weeks I was "in" that clique.

I play a pretty social character that reaches out and interacts with others though, so it may be easier to be assimilated when you make yourself known.

If you have never actually played in either game I am not sure that deciding that all people involved must be horrible snobs based on anonmemes when your complaint itself essentially boils down to "I am worried that people will judge fresh meat without giving them a chance" anything else than extremely hypocritical.

Please don't take it to other games. I had to leave the Aather thread because it was like talking to a brick wall.

Ehhh good quality I'm iffy on. It's just a shitload of comment spam to me - that doesn't make it necessarily good quality. Everyone has different types of games they are in to.

OOCly yes they are easy enough to work with. However, I do tend to get a 'holier than thou' attitude from both games. Which is better than wank, I guess if you get down to it, and it doesn't really matter much if they're having fun.

quality is subjective. if you enjoy your threads, they're good quality to you. there's nothing wrong with commentspam, either, but hey if you like prose good on you. personally i like commentspam, prose can't hold my attention at all in an rp like this

i never got that kind of vibe from either game, but i had friends in them prior to apping to thusia-- and they just looked like they were having so much fun i decided to try at least thusia(because fuck waiting a year to get into aather). since my last actual game experience was ilpromenade, coming to thusia was like a godsend of friendly people and easy-to-interact with characters. i don't know anybody who really tries to pass the rp off as better than anybody else's?

Not stating my last game in case it outs me, but Thusia has been really good to me. It's really welcoming. I won't overstate things like OP, but I've found the atmosphere really pleasant too.
