Any idea when the next CR meme goes up? A lot of my CR is on hiatus, and it's not going to bode well for me for this month.

i hear it's really laid back here but i'm curious about how forgiving people are in regards to dropping/reapping

a while ago, i apped with my main character under a new identity because i didn't want people to know what sort of shameless things i was into. i ended up getting cold feet once i saw you had to keep your app public (i use the same app for every game) and dropped a day after getting accepted. now i'm like fuck it, i'm gonna do what i want and app with pride but i worry other people will be like "oh it's that person again, they didn't even stick around for a week"

If you were in and dropped without even playing who's going to even know to care?

People drop all of the time for different reasons, it happens especially in a game like Ariel. Don't let it worry you. App back and just go with it.

to be honest, i doubt anyone even noticed. they certainly aren't going to hold it against you.

i just got in an now there's a three month long event that's a major squick for me. how easy is it to avoid events here? especially ones that may influence characters outside of smut threads (ie suddenly a lot of people are pregnant) since i really don't want to even have to acknowledge this in my future threads.

yes i did. my character being pregnant is not where the squick comes from, but having to deal with castmates/cr getting pregnant/being in heat/etc is. i'm not exactly looking to police other people's kinks, but given i still need to make ac, it's kind of a concern.

The events have always been easy to opt out of. The fact that there's a lot of kinks that might not hit everyone's buttons make it so that you're never forced to do anything. Not even events.

The pregnancies will also only last 2-3 ooc months, which is about 3 weeks to 1 month in game. There won't be a lot of obviously pregnant people walking around, and all of the event babies will be harvested and taken away.

Even with all of that in play, communicating with your rp partners that you don't want to do any of the event things or deal with pregnancies is all you need to do. No one's going to force anything on you.

and september has a separate event and october looks like it will have an alternate event for people not involved in the pregnancy and rescue stuff.

you have a lot of options but the onus is on you to communicate to people you'll have cr with.

the event only lasts for 2 weeks. it has long term effects that reach into october's event, but it's not like people are going to be wandering around getting pregnant for 3 months. i also highly doubt the majority of players are going to want to play out getting pregnant. they might like the lead up and the other aspects of the event, but i really don't see 100+ people suddenly getting pregnant.

pregnancy is also a major squick of mine and I will be avoiding reading posts about pregnancy/my characters won't be getting pregnant, but there is also a ton of other stuff going on during these events as well as other side-event options thrown in for people who don't like this stuff and personally I think it'll be easy to avoid the things I don't like. I already have a lot of stuff planned out with CR anyway, but you could use the CR meme to plan non-pregnancy related things with other players.

imo everyone in this game has always been very accommodating and the things you don't like should be easy to avoid, there will always be people willing to play out other things with you.

Jade is seriously one of the most unapproachable mods I've ever seen in a game.

Not saying you don't have an issue, but...really? Explain please.

sorry, anon, but i'm going to have to politely disagree with you. not whiteknighting or ass kissing or cozying, but i've found her to be extremely helpful as a mod. she's popped into plurks without being summoned to answer game related questions and any time i've had a question for her, i've had it answered relatively quickly. i don't know how much more approachable she can make herself given that she manages to do everything she does, including rl work and life activities.

I'm going to have to disagree as well. She's not going to cozy players, but she's straightforward and clear, and I have to appreciate that in a mod.

wow, seriously? that's the polar opposite of my experience. she's busy as heck and she's extremely direct but she's the most helpful, approachable and easy to talk to mod i've ever seen. i've had the same experience as other anons, with her popping up to answer questions on plurk without being summoned, willing to chat, and totally open to playing with people with honest warnings about her schedule and speed.

and i'm saying this as a new player with a bad case of typical rper insecurity, who gets my precious feelings hurt if you look at me wrong.
