Rundown:
rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Temporary Change: To reduce the strain on Dreamwidth's servers new entries will go up when a post reaches 3,000. Please refrain from spamming so we can stretch these entries for a little longer. We don't need several threads soliciting photo evidence of body parts, and we already know that we only care about yaoi. Failure to comply will only result in deletions and butthurt. "People may notice site slowdown/cache error pages. We're working on fixing. You can help: finish posts at 3k comments, not 5k or more." - Dreamwidth@Twitter
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Lantern Corps panfandom game
(Anonymous) 2012-09-16 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)As for joining up with a Corps, I think it should be part of the app process that they write in what corps they should belong in depending on the emotional spectrum, but in the end, based on a personality section, mods would decide where they end up so as not to create a huge faction imbalance and promote cross-canon CR.
The network would be via the Lantern rings, and since the communication function is a conscious effort to activate it, there'd be little opportunity to accidentally trigger it. The network doesn't support cross-corps communication, so if one wants to contact someone game-wide, they'll need to be creative about it.
Powers would be nerfed to an extent, but players would be able to keep them. I just want a Lantern game, tbh, and was wondering if others would find this interesting, too.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-17 04:51 am (UTC)(link)I do like how you can't really accidentally post - although maybe there should be some sort of balance for that, so that characters that aren't really all that communicative have a reason for using it.
I know that cross-corps communication doesn't make that much sense ICly, but I worry that it might hamper cr? Maybe it automatically filters to your own corps but has the ability to filter gamewide if you make the conscious effort. Getting people to tag out is hard enough as it is, and if it's space-based, getting cr through action probably would be difficult too. At least, between factions.
What if Black & White were a function of characters dying? So if your character dies, they have to stay dead for a bit then get resurrected as a Black Lantern before finally getting to be a White Lantern for like, a couple of days before reverting to their normal colour?

(Anonymous) 2012-09-17 05:05 am (UTC)(link)As for the Black and White Lanterns? I see how it could work. It definitely solves the issue of character death.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-18 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)I would suggest perhaps having something to the effect of an intergalactic communications system, but then a corps-specific one that could be tagged for.
I'd also suggest having becoming stronger with one's ring depend in part on going beyond the minimum AC and showing that yes, your character has been training.
