rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

It was copypasta'd onto Bakerstreet a few days ago. It's still full of MCU characters and blank comments from the look of it.

Judging from some of the feedback, even the bakerstreet people aren't happy with the way this was posted (long/triggerish content posted without warnings or a cut)

I kind of want to confront them on the actual post, but it wouldn't be worth it, no matter what wank it would bring.

I guess I can send a pm, but eh.

I don't often play at TLH, but I side-eyed so hard when I saw that meme go up on bakerstreet because it's even titled with The Love Hotel right in the name!

It's so obviously a post that you made for a particular comm and they so obviously just C&Ped it without even bothering to think twice about the fact that...bakerstreet and TLH are two different comms.

I was surprised that no one said anything on the post when it first went up, actually. I thought about mentioning it in the discussion post but then thought I must be the only one who cared. Now I wish I had said something.

As someone who's helped to build two open posts now, this is kind of upsetting and makes me wonder if I really want to contribute to making original content in the future. Obviously, I'm not stable anon and I have no personal stake in this incident, but if it's happened once clearly it can and probably will happen again. I don't mind sharing my hard work if I'm asked, but the stables post is an open post, not a meme, and should be treated the same way any other character's post should be... a direct rip and zero communication before copying is incredibly discourteous to the person who put in all that work. How hard is it to send a quick PM?

I'd say include a small OOC note to this effect on anything you do. It doesn't 100% guarantee people won't rip off the work, but it makes them look very discourteous if they do. I know I wouldn't tag into a meme somebody ripped off from somebody who said explicitly they didn't want to see it showing up somewhere else. That's like rewarding plagiarism.

I think that's a good tip. I will discuss this with paradise anon when there is a chance.
