That's a pretty easy one actually.
Start with Giant Size X-Men #1. Then just start reading Uncanny from there on until she gets the mohawk.

iirc that happens about.... 175-185? around that window so you'd only have to go about a hundred issues of reading and it goes p quickly

There's not really any good shorter/one-off things to work from for the Fantastic Four, are there? (Most people hate the movies, not sure how well the 90's cartoon held up, and I've heard mixed things about the more recent cartoon that was on CN...)

I'm not sure how much help it'd be, but the last month's issue of the Fantastic Four was Thing centric and it was beautiful.

Also, even though it's not 616 canon, there's a Marvel Adventures issue about some woman who dates him and uses him just because of his appearance. That's really worth checking out.

Ultimate Ben Grimm has gone though some amazing development, anon! And there's relatively few issues to boot. AND he's engaged to Sue Storm, if you're looking for extra incentive.

I know Whiplash has a few different incarnations in the comics, but I don't know how/if any of them overlap with MCU. And I guess Anton Vanko is Whiplash in comics verse rather than Ivan's father like in movie verse?

Any recs on how to unravel this tangled skein or what's the best Whiplash stuff to read?
