rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-20 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)As far as Eddie goes, Venom: Dark Origin was a mini from a few years back. Pretty much compresses his life from birth to his first fight with Spidey. It's written by the same guy who does the Carnage minis (Carnage, Carnage USA), so if you like those, give it a look. The same material is covered in Venom: Lethal Protector (1993).
His first appearance as Venom is in ASM 299. After ASM 300, he ends up in the Vault, before breaking loose to fight Spidey again in ASM 315. Around 330ish, the symbiote helps Brock escape from jail and gives birth to Carnage. Eddie and Spidey team up for the first time to take out Carnage, and after this Eddie leaves ASM for a while to go have adventures in San Fransisco with an underground homeless civilization. He has a few minis around this time, the main one is the abovementioned Lethal Protector, since that's where he stops wanting Peter dead (mostly). The other ones range in quality but are worth a look if you're interested (Seperation Anxiety is worth it if you're interested in playing Eddie). He also played a rather large part in Maximum Carnage.
I'm going to start jumping around here cause Eddie/Venom's had a lot of stories that never really get brought up again. The next thing you should probably look into is Spectacular Spider-Man Vol. 2, Issue 5. This introduces Eddie's cancer and provides additional backstory. Carnage vs. Venom introduces Toxin and provides additional characterization, but it's pretty problematic (continuity issues with Venom not recognizing people he should and vice versa).
Sensational Spider-Man had an arc called Venomous where Eddie sells the suit. That's where Brock's tenure as Venom ends. The Last Temptation of Eddie Brock was a storyline during Back in Black where he ends up in the same hospital as May after she's shot.
Next up is New Ways to Die where Brock becomes Anti-Venom, followed by New Ways to Live (a mini), the Return of Anti-Venom (ASM 663 or thereabouts), followed by Spider Island, and then the most recent issues of Venom cover his one man war against the symbiotes and becoming the new host for Toxin.
And that's everything for Brock. I think.
