rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

someone on my timeline plurks avidly about ongoing threads and how often they're tagging. someone asked in one of these plurks, hey did you want to continue our thread or hand wave?

response: i'm so sorry i have been sooo busy work i've barely had time to do any tags at all! i'm overwhelmed at work! i haven't had time for hobbies at all

the boldness of saying that to someone's face when they can see otherwise was funny to me

Wow. I'd be speechless honestly! Just imagine gushing about threads publically and then lying to someone that you were too busy for threads. Oof.

I'd probably just tell 'em to handwave the thread for closure and then never tag them again.

i definitely went "huh what lol" when i saw that response. i'm not excusing the behavior, but i think the plurker has abysmal self-awareness and genuinely doesn't realize how it looks

at the end of the day it would've been better to say "hey sorry i only have the brain for threading this character with this character rn, sorry for the wait" or something instead of using plainly untrue rl excuses for impolite online behavior

+1 Agreed. Rather have someone say 'sorry I can't brain tags for Mad Madame Mim rn can we hand wave something to wrap/can you give me a bit and I'll get to it tomorrow?' than what that plurker said. Ah well

i called out someone who did this to me once. not in a passive aggressive way, just, "hey i can actually see you're tagging other people at the moment. it's not that big of a deal if you want to drop the thread or handwave, i'd just like to know to move my character's plot forward."

and they blocked me lol

A reason why I would never call out someone I see who begged me for threads and then is boomeranging other people while never tagging me back. I just make a mental note to never tag them again. They can ask me for more threads but I’m not writing the starter.

don’t want to be blocked or deal with someone crazy like the comment above. they are out there among us, slowly stirring up things but never enough to be called out.
