Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.

i think it's better this way. as someone said upthread it makes a tdm busier and more fun if there are current players as well. it sucks to tag on a tdm and join a game only to discover that 80% of the game doesn't bother reading or playing on the tdm. being able to see how current players tag and interact with each other makes a game setting feel more alive and gives you a better sense of what you're getting into

new players in general need to stop treating tdms like a competition for attention. you don't "lose" if you only get 2 or 3 tag ins.

the way to get more tagins is a slow build anyway. the more cr you put in the legwork in for a game the more people will consistently hit your top-levels in my experience. in my last game my TDM top-level got two or three tagins but after a few events i was regularly getting around eight or more. it's a marathon not a race.

yeah, i would never bother tagging the tdms when they weren't also game events because i didn't want to waste time and energy on threads that might all amount to nothing if the person didn't app. at least this way the threads usually can still be considered game canon even if the character isn't ultimately apped so i'm still getting something out of it on my end too.
