This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. yes yes it's gacha and all gachas are scams etc, but nowadays a lot of the biggest names on the market take pretty great pains to *not* pull blatant shit like this where players can find it, precisely because it's the kind of bad pr that's nearly or actually killed games in the past. gbf's monkeygate of yore and its legacy (making it standard industry practice to clearly list actual banner rates) comes to mind.

openly increasing the pity count and rigging the banner drop rates with no disclosure? that's oldschool moneygrubbing. kind of funny how bold they're being about it. fun to popcorn from the sidelines, but i bet it's complete shit for actual players, esp since this game doesn't really have any alternatives in the space rn. yall have my condolences.

nayrt but i also wanted to comment on the dye system because when i first heard people complaining i thought it was people being dramatic. but after playing around with it i realize that no, they’re right. the dyeing itself is pretty good, they’ve got channels for everything and you can customize it with multiple colors.

however most of the colors are locked, and you have to unlock them for each piece. i’d thought it was global but when i went to dye something to match, i had to unlock the colors i used on that item too. while there’s a event going on that’s giving out that currency, the only way to get more when that’s run out is by buying them from the store with actual money. they do have a limited amount in the gacha rewards store but that resets monthly.

people are also upset because there’s indications that the dyeing system wasn’t intended to be locked like that and it was intended to be free or at least more accessible. a lot of this patch felt like upper management forcing things through - Nikki’s model initially missing socks, the dyeing system designed to cost as much as possible, and the new co op island being completely empty with nothing to do aside from dailies like “put 20 conch shells in a basket” or “step into this glowing circle and turn into a animal briefly.”

it’s also really bad because the co op island brings with it the Star Sea outfit that’s been in every Nikki game. it’s pretty iconic and pretty much the mascot outfit of the Nikki series. they made a big deal out of it dropping this patch, but the only way to unlock it is by doing the tedious dailies on the co op island that no one likes.
