i feel like i've seen little music widgets coded in journal profiles once or twice but it was forever ago

so, probably possible, but no idea where you'd find the html

i have also found at least one journal using an invisible autoplay coded into the entries page somehow in tyool 2024, and seconding everybody, pls do not do this. it has not gotten any less incredibly obnoxious, and it straight up turned me off tagging this person on a meme lol. the aversion was so visceral i can't even remember the journal name now...

oh no i was just thinking of a little play and pause button people could click if they cared enough, nothing actually egregious like that. i remember seeing one on a profile years ago (probably like, 2012-2013 now?), and then i assume something changed in how dw handles that particular code and it no longer worked the same way so no idea if it's still possible in the traditional sense

i guess you could 'fake' a little widget easily enough to link to a video/spotify track tho! not the same feeling but oh well

yeah a little button defaulted to pause would be much more sensible, wouldn't be an awful thing to find on a profile. im thinking mmmaybe it's a sort of thing that could gave been posted to dreamcodes around those years you mention? agree it's likely dw code updates may have broken whatever was used by now tho...

i can't help but maybe some other html whiz might drive by eventually with ideas. gl on ur hunt anon

i know i used to use muzicons on a couple of my journals as recently as 2016 but then uh

yeah dw changed what sort of widgets could be put onto profiles so those broke and i've never found anything quite as neat, tidy, and not intrusive since

though tbf i've also never tried too hard

It used to be possible ages ago. Back in the day, you could embed the youtube video, but also trim it so only the play button and the time were able to be seen. That way, you could play music just beneath an account.

With youtube changing every five seconds, though, and with the current embedding limits there are, I don't think it may be too possible now. Especially with ads up the wazoo.
