is anyone else having trouble with dw? i keeps telling me i'm not authorized to access it and i worry it's ip related, but i'm pretty sure i haven't done anything to warrant a ban. all i've been doing is tagging my psls, and i haven't even posted to bakerstreet in a couple of weeks

this started out of nowhere a few hours ago, my mobile is fine and ditto vpn. is the geoblocker acting up? i've never had this issue before and i'm in the us

if you got ip banned you seriously pissed off denise somehow. i can't recall anyone EVER being ip banned on this website, not even mega shitheels like hellion or actual irl criminals like second. mods don't even have the power to ip ban iirc

are you banned from bakerstreet or just haven't posted there in weeks for other reasons?

denise has said ip bans don't work, i don't think dw does them. it's probably something to do with your isp and/or the host. back when dw moved off of cloudflare a lot of people struggled with accessing dw.

still getting this and today my friend told me that in 2023 denise posted that occasionally some people will get a 403 denied error and when it happens to email them with your ip, basically it means you got caught in their spam filter. i wonder if it's because i've been tagging a lot more recently cause i've got two pretty steady psls going? or maybe just bad luck.

anyway, i figured i'd let you guys know in case it happens to someone else!

definitely email them or put in a support ticket. when it was happening last year the dreamwidth staff didn't even know it was a problem until people started putting in support tickets, they don't actually monitor this kind of thing. if you need something fixed the quickest way is to make sure you've asked in the right places.
