Any Fire Emblem characters. But only because it's a combination of me seeing the fandom then saying 'no thanks' and only caring about ships.

my fire emblem RP experience has been 1000% improved by never going into any fandom fire emblem spaces, ever. and avoid the fe rpers that deep dive into fandom spaces

this has been my experience with every fandom lol

my fe experience has been 1000 times better since i decided to avoid games and just write my ships in psls. drop a sock if you want to compare characters and see if our ships align!

i just look at pretty fanart and do PSLs (and sometimes gmaes) with people i know are cool, improves my FE experience 100%.

because people never get castmates or interact with the fandom when you're a lcw, regardless of how popular a canon is or how many people play from it! brilliant, you're SO smart.

genuinely do not get the ottness of this reaction to what was a pretty glib and i thought obviously joking comment but okay sure i'll bite

1. there are plenty of games where you can still lcw even if you're playing from a relatively popular canon, all you gotta do is look. it might be a little harder (but not impossible) if you're playing from three houses specifically but every single other branch of the canon is quieter going now so it wouldn't be difficult to strike it solo as any of the fateswakenings, to say nothing of how rarely you see any of the characters from games even before them. fire emblem is not that crazy popular these days, at least not in the dwrp sphere.

2. 'oh no! but what if i do get a castmate after apping in as a lcw!' then tough, you're probably gonna have to use your words and make your position clear. if they app in without tdming or talking to you while also immediately angling for a ship from the get go that's already pretty weird and people generally aren't going to look at you twice if you simply do not engage. if they're not, then unless you're playing someone who's expected to be a friend to all (byleth, corrin, robin) then you can just... keep to separate cr circles? i know the 3ds games with 2nd gen have ruined people's expectations for who should reasonably support and talk to who but for the most part the casts of these games are not all talking to each other anyway. there's no actual need for every member of a cast to be all up in each other's business.

3. if they do approach you, and you're on friendly enough terms to open communication with them, then use your words! gently but kindly express that haha, thank you, but you're actually kind of interested in exploring how this character behaves without any of their canonmates/support net/what have you present. of course they don't have to agree simply because you say so, but if they throw a shitfit about it that's on them and not you, and again people generally probably won't look at you twice if you don't engage in that situation. if they do handle it gracefully then like... they're probably not a crazy, and safe to play with?

4. or just play on bakerstreet and offer no ooc communication options ever. can't be dragged into fandom nonsense if you simply do not make yourself available for it, right.

and bulletpoint 5, for if you have friends: psl it up in private, like you'd do for every fandom that's exploded to the point where you're better off keeping your fandom experience to the 5 people you follow and that's it.

engage is the new hotness, fateswakening isn't everywhere like they used to be. agreed on both 3h (3hs?) though.
