rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Gaining extra goofy butt non-canonical powers has never appealed to me. Its even less fun when those powers are assigned to you through random events in the game, by some roll of the dice or mod decision.

I would love to find a game where I could play my canonical character with their own abilities in a fun and interesting setting.

It's still worth asking just to see what everybody's lost plans were.

the first D&D mod I ever found on the internet was called something like "the carnal guide to advanced dungeons and dragons." It was a .txt document from a newsgroup that broke down mechanics for things like pregnancies, menstrual cycles, "battle" mechanics for intercourse, and an entire list of STDs and associated stat mods. We got a ton of use out of it when I was in high school.

there's no hard divide because both exist in parallel, and both influence the other. the online is an extension of the RL of a person. that's why it's stupid when people are like "it's just DWRP drama, why don't you just shake it off or whatever." because you're all people and it won't kill you to be kind to everyone else on the other side of the screen.
It's really nice seeing someone else say this because I've always felt that way. I don't know why there's supposed to be a difference other than people wanting to be mean to each other and using online presence as an excuse ("it's not real so you can't get upset over it").

please report them to bkst if they are really ignoring your opt out. if that isn't a mean spirited rumor anon is spreading, then it's legit deserving of a mod warning or ban

I realized this was how things worked. When I realized things were going to shit in 2020 and massively curated my internet content for my own mental health, I realized just how much they need you to be angry, afraid, and hateful. It's a psychological thing. If you think your way of life is in danger, your whole being will focus on those things, even if they are really stupid.

That's not to deny ugly shit happened these last years, because it really, really did. But I also noticed that this sort of shit you mention is nearly everywhere. Even fucking youtubers, who cry and moan about the monetization and how they don't know how are going to eat... are the first to go towards riling up their audience with false news, heavily opinionated garbage, or especially (barely) concealed bigoted shit, just so they can ride the algorithm.

Nowadays, it's the reason I try to avoid any discussion of politics, drama, or clickbait. Because more often than not, they're massively opinionated topics for which there will be no clear heads.

I'm not too sure, since terminally online incidents & people have spread nearly everywhere. There are people that use their full name and identity on public forums to scream drivel, and they turn out to do the exact same outside of the internet.

Maybe it's people overestimating the anonymity of the internet, but I've noticed people act more and more the same way they do online.

There aren't any official mechanics for doing the do, but the first edition Dungeon Master's Guide does have a chart for what kind of prostitute you meet.

at least one other anon has said they've had the same experience but idk if they're lying or not. my guess is the player just has a lot of journals to remember not to tag and fires off so many tag outs they lose track but it's still annoying especially when the content of their tags is so fucking weird
