Giving this one last try!

A friend and I discussed opening a Pokémon-inspired game last year during lockdown. We were very excited about it, wrote down our ideas, and we recently even built the communities and the setting. However, real life started getting busy and my friend got a new job, making it impossible for them to mod with me. Because I wanted to do this with them, I lost my spark for the game.

I want to give the game away. It sounds weird, but we have half-built it, it's there and I'm probably going to abandon it if no one wants it.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing something with a bastardized Pokémon game. I say bastardized because me and my friend wanted to make the game sound like it was very Pokémon-like, but once you check it out there are major differences (for example,there are no Pokémon trainers, you can't catch Pokémon... and yes, it's called Rhyme city on purpose). You can check this account for what we have written so far.

Honestly, whoever takes over can do whatever they want with it. Change it as you want.

How do you take several steps back from being over-invested to a unhealthy degree over something you know is stupid and irrational, but make you feel like shit anyway? The stress and anxiety from brooding over a mere psl is killing my enjoyment of it on top of making me lose sleep

do something else until you don't even think about it anymore. read a book, play a game, talk to friends, etc.

it also depends on the reason you're brooding too, but for the most part the best way i find to not be overly invested in things is to just give yourself other things to enjoy.
