Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

my energy and enthusiasm for rp has been dwindling since sometime last year. at first it was partially tied into other circumstances (busier rl, important castmates flaking, poorly timed endgames, etc). now i just haven't been able to find a character/game set that... clicks for me again.

i know there must be some prospect i'll be happy to pour my energy into. but trying things out and then realizing i don't want to play that character or in that game makes my drive even worse.

i dont want to throw spaghetti at the walls and flake out until i find what works, but i won't know what i'm looking for without trying. the endless trap. :(

I just went through this nonny. Do something different. What miraculously brought back my RP enthusiasm was picking up some anon PSLs out of the various "things you want to play" threads. Try an avenue you haven't! See if it brings a little wonder back!

same exact boat as you nonny. taking a break to do memes and psls only helped, but i also feel like i'm ready to soft retire again.

there's no getting around the current dwrp environment, while not dying, is stagnating hard. and it sucks!

take a break. meme it up. do all that self-indulgent shit you've always wanted to do.

i am in this exact same situation, anon, and i feel for you a whole lot. i wish i had advice, but instead i just have a lot of sympathy. :(
