Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

This ain’t it, champ. The player is extremely involved, proactive and encouraging oocly. Be mad at the originally constricting event, not the player bringing up open dialogue and solutions to close the event out nicely.

that may be true, but they also regularly drop threads and flake out on plans with people who aren't their closest cr.

the two things aren't mutually exclusive. they're proactive and do shit but only with a certain group of people.

this is a vice everyone has to a greater or lesser degree.

realistically, we don't have infinite attention spans. someone who regularly kicks the metaplot along in ways i and my close cr can engage with but flakes out on me personally is p good in my book, versus someone who just flakes out on me personally. i don't ever need to engage directly with the first person to get the goods.

this doesn't change that people may be annoyed with owlie for consistently flaking on people outside of their favored cr. and that is a valid reason to be annoyed with someone. i personally feel owlie would do better not to make plans with people they can't commit to.

just pointing out it's literally a thing you can pin on anyone who doesn't see you as their core cr, and literally all of us are annoyed by not being someone's shiny favorite thing if we want cr from them. that doesn't make other contributions to the game invalid.

making plans with people and bailing on them isn't something that is common to everyone, dude. it's an actual problem. owlie is a nice person and all but they're last minute and always overestimate their time. it's not "normal" it's an issue with one person.

ok, i agree now that we've moved to "making plans and bailing on them with everyone", but "flake" read as an ambiguous term to me that could mean anything from "drops my threads before I feel they're done" to "literally never tags in like they say they will", so mea culpa on that.

this is looking personal and isolated to one or two people compared to a rather large group, so i would still say go talk to them personally. the player in question tags out and keeps up fine from what I see in the comms? i’m confused.

but i get that you can't talk with them personally now, you slammed their name here to start something that doesn't have a real reason beyond "i'm chafed". maybe it's just best to stop here, you guys already got off on the wrong foot so accept it ig

maybe, but i don't know this person well enough to agree with that, and can only speak to what i've observed, comments wise, from my timeline in terms of concerns over the event. there is an agreement it feels like it could have used better execution to feel less sudden (and less leaving the genuine diplomat characters in the dust), but i really don't want to make any of this about an individual player is don't know well, and you're the only person i've seen trying to tie all of this to them, personally.
