The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Thoughts on Season 2? I liked it a lot more than the first one, and it was genuinely a fun journey. But a big problem was that there were a lot of plot points that were never elaborated upon, half of them created this season alone.

i really enjoy it overall but boy the IV drip of plot is agonizing! right now it feels like an only slightly tweaked plot-to-goof ratio of how Futurama plots unfolded in between episodic stuff, rather than genuinely serialized. either is ultimately fine, but it's hard to know which it's going for.

plus, the humor just really isn't hitting the mark for me. :( the background puns make me smile but a lot of the scripted gags seem to fall totally flat. also super dislike the jokes about Elfo being creepy. i want to love him, but it puts me off. i felt like that was much more well done about Fry, but that also has more seasons to look at.

i agree with everything you said anon. :( they're so coy with the plot after the first few episodes. i assume they want to make another long-running series but i'm not completely sure theres enough plot here to do that. and 'cause it isn't that funny (or at least the humor falls flat for me too, not sure if it's just not funny or if the characters don't have a good dynamic or both) imo the plot-to-goof ratio doesn't work that well for this show.

not that a lot of plot at once is a good thing, but they might be going too far to drag it out. it felt like only the first few episodes were plot-centric and after that it was breadcrumbs. and honestly even the first few plot-centric episodes felt like breadcrumbs. did not help that the only real plotty thing from last season was resolved very easily and swept under the rug.

ultimately i want to like it and like the show, but it's difficult to remain invested while waiting for the plot to pick up. hard agree on the jokes about elfo being creepy too, tho i wanna say they didn't lean on them so hard this season compared to the first one. i do wish he and luci had more screentime this season too, i felt like luci wasn't around all that much compared to before. pls more luci, he's my favorite!!

I feel like they wrote themselves into a corner with Luci, and that's why we're not seeing much of him. Either he's got an agenda going on and we won't see much because the plot can only be dished out in breadcrumbs, or we take it at face value that he gave up his position and power because he wants to hang out with some friends, in which case his arc unceremoniously wrapped up.
