For the anon from last post (and anyone else) wondering when the next TDM would be - mods just announced the next app round will be in July and the TDM will go up June 24.

I...will admit I'm probably going to app somewhere else instead of waiting an extra month and a half to app somewhere (especially given how the game seems to be shrinking), but best of luck? I had the time for the original app schedule but I'd rather join a game this month, not next month.

yes? It's June now, the TDM is the 24th and July is the next app round. The IC intro would be the 12th of July. Only like three days short of a month and a half to playing in game?

would it? the dates of all of those things are currently being reconfigured, really the only thing we know, for sure, is that the tdm will be on the 24th and apps would be open possibly a week after that, in july.

i mean, all of that would probably suck if this was literally your only place to rp and you didn't do any memes, psls, or threads in other games in the meantime. otherwise i don't really see the handwringing over the timeframe being that worthwhile. it's not like when recolle shut down apps for the entire summer.

this attitude is totally going to convince people to app to your game.

the attitude they're replying to is why a lot of games die, big or small, though.

like if a game isn't the boppinest party all the time, it's not worth joining, so they all flood to big games that get super bloated and end up dying anyways, choking on their own girth.

the idea that only big games are worth joining is a big issue in modern dwrp.

the best games i've ever played in had smaller playerbases than this one.

for a community obsessed with high standards, dwrp sure doesn't understand that quantity doesn't equate to quality. or that the bigger a game is, the harder it is for a mod team to maintain.

yoshiwara doesn't have the quality to make up for their lack of quantity though. the events are lackluster and whatever faction conflict we had is limited to higashi and the police so far.

not to mention, a hyperdefensive playerbase that pretends it isn't cliquey and unwelcoming.

....but they aren't deciding not to app because the game is small. they're not apping because apps won't be in another month.

It's already a full month more than I was led to believe I'd have to wait, and you've lost so many players recently I don't see the point in hanging my game hat on a ship that isn't loading up enough passengers to keep running. If the game doesn't fade out, more power to you, but I checked the plurk announcement and since the TDM date is the same as it was before but just displaced by a month? It's fair to assume the app dates are the same.

I'm not handwringing, just pointing out that I, like a lot of people, will be choosing to app somewhere that I can get into before summer ends that seems less dead on its feet.

i mean, being in the game, it's definitely not dead, but you do you, anon.

I will, since "not being dead" only solves like...less than half of my reasoning, IDK why you're freaking out that people might choose to apply to other games that are sticking to schedules rather than delaying for over a month.

the schedule is changing because previously intro posts and event posts ran too close together and the game had *too much* going on at once and it overwhelmed newer players.

like the game isn't huge, but it's really active, idk what you want me to tell you.

Like by your original schedule the tdm would have been last week and the app round this month, so...it's a substantial wait in a game that is apparently bleeding players right now.

we're not going to be going by the original schedule anymore.

kinda weird that they're holding off on apps that long when they just lost two dozen characters.

two dozen characters that were barely around. like most of them did a handful of threads, at most, before dropping or idling. i can count on one hand the number of characters in that list that were actually active.

I had a few people interested but they've decided to join a different game instead now that they've heard the new wait time. Sucks, but what can you do? I don't blame anyone for not wanting to wait around that long for a small, slow game.

the game ain't slow. the whole reason the schedule is changing is because shit was moving too fast.

It's pretty slow, dude. Check the last log and you won't see much happening at any astounding pace.

had to go back six pages on flatview on that log to find comments that weren't from the last three days, and about six more than that to find comments that weren't from the last five days. hell the last two pages of flatview all have comments from today

that's not slow.

It is when you consider people are also extremely cliquey.
