Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

What was the hardest part about going through the treatment?

And how did your partial hospitalization work? Did you stay some days and go home the rest?

the hardest part is that even afterwards, i still have a lot of recovery to do. i began to show signs of upswing, but then, my insurance stopped paying for treatment about a week after the death of one of my grandparents who effectively co-parented me as a kid, and i slipped back into symptoms. unfortunately, paying out of pocket wouldn’t be possible for me ($300/day), so i had to stop treatment and go back to work.

rn i’m still doing a lot of work - i see my outpatient therapist once a week and i’m also in emotions anonymous because i found the group talkback “sharing” type of therapy to be the most helpful for me. i’m also looking into a specialized clinic of doctors in my area who deal with my specific diagnosis (it’s a doozy) to see if they can help me with the medication aspect, because right now i don’t have a psychiatrist prescribing meds so it’s just been my general practitioner dr, who has recommended i seek more specialized med management. it’s a LOT to keep track of lol

PHP program was different for me than some. most of the clinics in our area focus on both psych related illnesses and co-recurring tracks (this means those of us who struggle with addiction/drug and alcohol related issues and mental health issues from what i understand) with a major focus on co-recurring and detox.

in my case i was on the psych track bc while i did struggle with some drug stuff (i’m working on sobriety right now) it was determined that my episode was more mental health than drug related. so in my case, i drove to the center and did a rigorous therapy program for 8 hrs a day and then went home - my apartment or very occasionally my parents house, wherever i felt most comfortable and safe that day. (i’m very lucky to have a strong support system that helped me through this.)

i do think some patients did stay there, though, and i also know there was an ‘ambulatory detox’ facility for some patients who were on the co-recurring track. i attended some co-recurring sessions out of my own request a few times because i had some questions and wanted to get their perspectives in group sessions, but other than that i don’t know as much about that track.
