rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.

Stupid characters
(Anonymous) 2018-12-06 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)Canon usually shows the stupid in very brief scenes and then moves along, but keeping RP interactions short without looking like a flake seems to be a tricky balancing act.

(Anonymous) 2018-12-14 03:50 am (UTC)(link)Since generally, most such characters usually have things they're good at, or they have potential for growth/learning. For example, dumbass at academics but good intuition/handicraft/street smarts.
People don't mind characters who are a dumbass, as long there's something more to them and they get to see it in threads. Maybe your dumbass is a dumbass about X, but have good intentions/genuinely care about friends. Something that would get people interested in trying another thread again, or keep tagging until a good end point.
So I say have a basic idea of a goal/arc for your character, whether in PSL/games, or maybe exploring things in memes. Even if it's something as simple as "want to get a present, cook something but doesn't know how?!".
