I'm liking the premise. Thinking about apping here, but what's it like actually being in game?

i've found it pretty welcoming overall. who or what kind of character are you thinking about apping?

Haven't settled on that yet.

What kinds of characters do better than others here in your experience and what's the game speed? Are players on the slower side or do people boomerang?

ime there's room for just about any character type, but i'd personally avoid characters wouldn't be inclined to engage with the setting/community. most character-run organizations and plots are more about living in hadriel longterm, like improving quality of life for the citizens or defending against threats like monsters or the null. so if your character would only care about trying to break out of the city and go home, it might be a tough adjustment. all that said, i've seen other anons pop up with opinions about character types so other folks might have some better suggestions there.

as far as speed, it really depends who you're tagging? we do have a few boomerangers, but the overall pace of the game is pretty relaxed. it's perfect for me, but i will say i've had friends join only to leave shortly thereafter because the game pace was too slow for them. i wouldn't say the playerbase is flakey or slow to a debilitating degree, though. most players are consistent taggers even if they're not super speedy, and most players are also very open to ooc communication and prioritizing threads, that sort of thing. a lot of ooc planning typically happens at the start of each month and before our big monthly events too.

what the above anon said. i know there are some characters that really want to go home but if that's going to rub you the wrong way in the long term then the character might not be a good fit. there doesn't seem to be any preference for anything else. ocs seem to be especially loved? but lcws do really well too.

tagging speed varies a lot but the game overall is medium. as above said the slower players don't seem to mind prioritizing threads if need be and the game has a number of boomerangers. anons can give suggestions on who to tag but the game seems to be pretty welcoming most of the time.
