rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. i mean, i wouldn't suggest going crazy and saying you're a 23 year old accountant in wyoming when you're really a 30 year old teacher in texas, but don't feel like people are entitled to your personal info.

your birthday is 11/07/1992? maybe fudge it by a few days/weeks, i recommend staying within your zodiac just in case people ask since you might slip up. plus it's easy to claim that any celebrations that happen around your actual birthday are just late because your family was busy. i don't recommend lying about your birth year because it seems like crossing a line, idk. unless you're already 21+ and saying you're a year or two older maybe?

you live in a small town near "nyc"? just say you live in "nyc". if anyone tries to ask you questions about nyc things, just joke about what a shut-in you are.

i wouldn't use these for actual criminal fraud though, just a fake "jane doe" for your own security. take an inch off your real height, call yourself stacy instead of debra, maybe dye your hair or get a cute new hairdo to help you feel more "hidden"...

if you feel adventurous enough, maybe get a google voice/free phone number for a nearby city and using it on your phone instead of giving out your real number. or get a po box in a nearby city.

don't forget that you also have the option of not wanting to disclose certain info. just don't lie left and right until you get tangled in your web of lies and have to explain to people who feel deceived.

i also have a fake identity for sites i don't trust, lmao. don't need them selling my REAL info to spammers when i sign up for sites. if they seem trustworthy enough, then they get my real info instead of my fake generator name with a throwaway email.

another thing to consider: let's say your stalker knows you as rey butle in los angelos, huge fan of fate/, doctor who and neopets. maybe keep quiet about your neopets and other identifying obsessions and find new fandoms to be vocal about loving. even if you like popular shit, crazy fuck stalkers could still try to identify you by info like that. especially if they know extra fandom info like your otps, favorite bnfs, w/e.

unfortunately, some stalkers require their victims to do this in order to avoid their creepy fuck detection.

even something as simple as "isabella is a 23 year old girl born in california on february 6th who's a big fan of homestuck, supernatural, and markiplier" can be VERY identifying information. especially if someone is batshit enough and has enough free time to do a lot of digging.

if they know your email, what kind of usernames you'd use, any fandom info to rule others out as being you, it's a lot easier to find you.

i've tried contacting police about my stalker before and they had absolutely no problems laughing at me and treating me like i didn't know how a block button worked, like i was an idiot or something.

my stalker's the type to contact strangers and tell them "hey, anon said your art is trash!" or "wow, anon was right when they said you were an ugly dumbass" to get his own free army to harass me. the block function is simply useless to me in this case and i'm fortunate that i've hidden myself before tumblr became a thing. i have google alerts for my legal name because i always have that worry that he'll make a callout post... or some naive fool might talk about me and link him to me all over again.
