rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I'm interested! ...But a little hesitant about the "surprise" element of the clan thing.

Clans are chosen a week after arrival, but... How are they chosen? Like... do the mods choose it at random? Base off of personality? Can a student who feels very strongly about being picked for one particular clan ask to be placed there during the ceremony?

What we have so far is that it'll mostly be up to the player. In game characters will meet up with an examiner and given a quiz (that'll change each round) that will help determine what Clan would best fit them. But if your character is really uncomfortable with the Clan they're given and are inclined to argue or discuss, they can argue with the examiner about getting a new one. We're really not looking to make this super serious, we just want to give some people the element of surprise if they want something random slammed at them.

That being said, arguing with the examiner might get you the Clan you want or will fit better, but it might also get you a minor hex. Nothing painful, just something to point out you're annoying and purely to give players additional things to play out. The hex will disappear after a bit.

This is also still in the planning stages, of course, things may change.
