i kind of figured that after the "lol gross" comment, but at the same time there was someone going around acting as if the playerbase were a bunch of pearl-clutching babies for not wanting to see any sexual talk, ic or ooc, in the discord chat, because el nysa is clearly a sex game (it's not) so i couldn't tell

idk man, 'sex game' is something i'd interpret as sex being what the game is about 24/7, mandatory, a central part of the game's mechanics, so it just feels inaccurate to call it that, since it implies a 24/7 fuckfest, and it should be fairly obvious there's more to it than that.

sex just doesn't seem to be the driving motivator for people apping into this game. 'adult-oriented game' or even '18+ game' sound hokey as fuck but they get the same point (SEX HAPPENS) across without limiting it to just sex.

any game where you can app into it and not have to play out sex or involve yourself in sex aspects at all and still be happily playing the game and not get booted isn't a 'sex game'. it can be sex positive, and i'm glad it is. it's a game that encourages sexual behavior for bonuses and whatnot, but the fact that you could play it without engaging makes it not a sex game. you couldn't play in amat or coa without it. that's a sex game.

a game that doesn't have sex as a required element (ICly or OOCly) is not a sex game. idg why this is hard to understand for this one person.

don't assume. i am definitely here for the smut incentives since the other 18+/mature games don't appeal to me for one reason or another, or i've already played in them. and if going down the taken list and taking a really quick lazy look at everyone's permissions says anything, a lot of people here are open to smut too.

it's not that anyone's against it, but labels have meanings for things. calling a game a sex game in dwrp means that it's sole focus is on sex. you can't play in it without playing sex. that's not the case here.

this is oddly reminiscent of that thread where someone was trying to argue that reserve sniping 'didn't mean a bad thing' because of they way they took it and therefore it shouldn't mean what it meant in the context of dwrp.

sex games aren't bad things. if you're apping into a sex positive game with bonuses for sex stuff, you clearly don't have a problem with it. but el nysa isn't a 'sex game'. it's a sex positive game and the two things have different meanings on dwrp. hence the definition.

What bonuses? I haven't seen any bonuses besides getting along with locals better in the FAQ.

There's almost no incentive at all.
