I don't know if it'd be enough of a departure from most jamjars to be what you want, but at

thelegion, even though they don't choose to be brought to the game, they're not stuck in a single small place. The team has a main base on a space station the size of a moon, but in their downtime they're free to travel at will through portals to any of the planets in the setting. So alongside the plots taking place on a different world each time, you're allowed to set threads on different worlds with thread partners if you want, and even the SOL events between plots are set in different sci fi settings each time.

They also have a choice whether or not they join the team and the npcs refuse to force them.

It hits your other requirements, too.

- slow to medium but it tends towards medium a lot, especially with plots. Backtag friendly.
- plotty. very very plotty
- the game has a few big casts but most of the taken list is actually LCWs. OCs are allowed
- nonpowered people can get powers and there's training for combat and superhero skills you can handwave in the background
- not murder or memloss

The game setting has it so 14 year olds are considered adults in their society, so we have some under 18s that came in with very little or no combat skills, like Kubo and Dipper Pines, that are treated as just as much a part of the team as the adults. Or at the very least they're not treated as any less capable than the anime figure skaters.

If you know how to sew, you can put off having to buy new clothes for a time by doing some simple adjustments. And even if you don't know how to sew this type of adjustment is pretty easy to learn.

There's a TWD cast over at

riverview. It's choose your own plot and there's another pregnant character in game. The next TDM will be in a week or so, though you're welcome to try your luck at the current one.

ayrt I think I could manage it on my skirts and dresses but there's no way I'm going to be able to tailor my jeans. I'll probably end up rocking saggy pants and a belt for a while.

i can deal with the forced arrival for the rest, i think. it sounds really interesting! i'll definitely look into it further and see who i'd want to bring, thank you.

I feel you on the clothes thing. I lost three stone last year and had to donate a ton of my clothes, but while it was sad to part with certain items it's been great for redefining my style.

I'm doing pretty fine! I'm being trained for a new job position, and while I started off feeling overworked and overwhelmed, I'm surprised how I've grown into the role when at first I was having private breakdowns to my bf about how I worried I couldn't do it. but I'm finally beginning to feel like a competent and capable member of the staff, and at our manager's meeting the other day my boss told me how good a job he thinks I'm doing. feels great man.

Creeped out at the moment because of some weird reaction to someone I don't like touching me. also a bit pressured with a deadline coming up that I haven't kept track of and I'm almost out of time for completing it (and I haven't even started). Life rarely gets away from me that badly, so I'm feeling a little dumb with how badly I've managed it lately.

I'm kinda new to DWRP but I was big into LJ RP a few (long) years back. There were a couple of fun comms that were super active, I think one was called Sages (of Chaos?) where characters could ask questions and anyone could answer, one was called Theatrical Muse where a prompt would go up every week and characters would write drabbles and comment on each other's journals, and I think there was some kind of nexus Cafe where characters from different worlds would just come in and RP doing things at the cafe. I haven't seen anything like this yet here in the few months I've been back, but it would be really awesome if they did exist or someone was interested in restarting them.

I'm really enjoying this event!

I just woke up from a really fucked up dream. I don't really want to go into details but it's one of those deals where waking up made me simultaneously so glad it isn't real and sort of worried about my own brain.

most of those have fallen by the wayside for various reasons.

milliways_bar exists on dw, but it's at the periphery of dwrp these days. the audience coming to rpa mostly doesn't use it.

the primary non-game communities we use now are:

bakerstreet - meme community and hub for other meme communities, a lot of memes are crossposted

fortanon - meme community with anon enabled

dear_player - replacement for dear_mun, first-person RP with a meta angle

enablemeplz - replacement for appthisplease, a place to find games and PSLS

the_love_hotel and

sixwordstories also still exist, but they don't have reputations for drawing good players.

people have been interested in reviving various communities and styles of RP, but very few have been successful. dwrpers will talk about missing dressing rooms or nexus communities, but the bulk of rpers are no longer interested in actually playing in those settings and the people who try to revive old comms often give up.

if you're willing to adapt to the current landscape, there are still plenty of ways to get both first-person and third-person RP, but they might not look the way they did back in 2004.

I'm having a really good time with it! The mods put together a really fun event!

For the old Sages of Chaos/Dear Multiverse crowd,

nexus_crossings and

nexus_sages exist, but they're not exactly exploding with activity.

1prompt is another meme comm trying to get off the ground with the premise of no blank toplevels. But I rarely see it advertised, only found it by mistake the other day, and it's not super active either.

people just really want to argue the merits of gen vs. shipping instead of finding a way for them to coexist. at least we've had some good discussion in the thread.

i'm guessing that it's because some players want romance but don't want to write porn, while some players just want smut
