Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

I'm in a game with an H-series character and to be honest I have a consistently difficult time tagging them or trying to plan cr, not because of the specific fact that they're from a smut game, but because everything about them and their life is centered around it. If they want to be in character that means they literally cannot step outside of the submissive, shaking uke box even during mundane interactions, and I know the player doesn't have an interest in changing that because they've expressed it multiple times. It's fine by me, it's all pretendy fun times and they should play what they enjoy, but my advice is that it can be jarring for some people to try and rp with someone from a smut game, don't sweat it if that happens. It's not personal and sometimes has nothing to do with the idea of smut, just the characterization that goes hand in hand with it.

Ftr I'm in a non smut rp game, but what people look for in their rp smut varies, so the same situation could be applicable there too.

Tl;dr make an opt out post, be honest and chill about it, and don't worry if things sometimes don't click.

-m/m
-i have a thing for certain cute outfits, especially sports outfits/athletic boys, etc.
-I want to do a high school/college age relationship
-I want to rp some rough sex, particularly pinning and forceful sex, dubcon/noncon, and particularly forced oral sex and possibly oral stuff.
-particularly fond of oral sex through cute clothes like silky shiny athletic shorts, jock straps, or other potentially cute athletic clothes (wrestling singlets, or even swimwear.)

-possibly rough anal, including the guy recieving being pushed on his side and sidefucked, incuding one of his legs being picked up and propped up on the other guy's strong shoulder.

-OC scenarios are fine, but I'm open to fandoms too, especially fandom muses from sports animes like Free! or others.

Let me know if you're willing to indulge me.

i've been keeping an eye out for a shorter game where pvp murder isn't the focus. did you have any ideas for a game like that?

I like how Tumblr will defend inconsistent art styles in Steven Universe, but gets mad whenever someone draws a character in a slightly lighter skin tone.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-12 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
or, as is my favourite, the correct skin tone sampled from the official art when most fan artists make it several shades darker on purpose for extra points

Re: Short term games?

Short answer: Yes!

Long answer: Yes, and now I'm going to talk your ear off about them.

It's probably possible to take almost any concept and shift it from a focus on murder to a focus on something else, really, but the Fatal Frame-inspired one could work really well for a game that wanted less pvp murder while keeping the horror aspect. Characters would wind up in the setting for whatever reason (most likely because they're searching for someone who's gone missing, so I'd ask for a little information about who or what they're looking for in the app so I could incorporate that into the setting) and would find that they've ended up trapped there themselves. From there it becomes a race against time and the ghosts to not only escape, but also to find who or whatever they're looking for and to keep this from happening to anyone else.

The focus would then be on general mystery solving and exploration, and in the place of trials, the big weekly log would be one of a couple of types of logs, most commonly an exploration or a rescue log, depending on player action in the week leading up to it. An exploration log would unlock larger parts of the setting, like exploring an entire haunted house, and allow characters to collect clues to help them decide what to do next week. A rescue log would occur under certain conditions - if one or more of the characters did something to attract the attention of angry ghosts which would kidnap them, or if they uncover enough information to track down and rescue one of the player characters' missing friends. Other types of logs would occur if certain conditions are met, but that's meant to be a surprise for once the game starts.

It likely wouldn't be as much of a bloodbath as a standard murder-focused game, but character death would still be on the table, so I've got ideas for mechanics to keep people involved even after they've died as well.

My other idea for a non-murder focused game deals more in political intrigue and worldbuilding. The characters will be summoned to a fantasy kingdom where they're asked to serve as councilors/advisors to a sheltered monarch who has only recently ascended to the throne. Because the monarch has no idea what the outside world is like, their priests summoned the player characters to provide varying perspectives. Mingle logs during the week would allow them to engage with each other and with the setting, and in place of trials, there would be weekly council meetings where the characters would discuss matters brought to the table and vote on how to advise the monarch.

The monarch would then act on their advice and the setting would react accordingly - for example, if their advice is to form an alliance with one faction, the opposing faction might cause trouble elsewhere in the kingdom, which they would then see the effects of in the next mingle log. They might advise the monarch to host a ball welcoming visiting heads of state, and an assassin might sneak in during said ball and make an attempt on someone's life. Characters who are especially vocal for or against one stance might be approached privately by other parties, who will seek to use their influence to shape the world as they see fit. A politically savvy character might even be able to maneuver themselves into an even greater position of power.

The game would end when the kingdom is stable enough and the monarch is learned enough to rule without them, oooor when the situation becomes so chaotic that they have to flee for their lives. It's loosely inspired by Long Live the Queen, if you've played that!

tanagura, if you don't mind smut games

da

(Anonymous) 2017-03-12 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
the sad part is the reason why murder games work is that people who provide effort are usually the ones who help lead plot and trials. the ones who fail inactivity are culled and removed from play. if you don't have an aspect to cut inactivity, the game stagnates like a normal game.

i believe 3 months is the absolute max you can have the murder game impact of intensity. anything else feels like it drags on.

i'd like to see exploration games with permadeath similar to [community profile] oregontrials but a little more expansive on the environment.
